I'm so glad to see epherma creating for the sims 3. I loved their skins back in the sims 2, but I much prefer subaxi's skins still. I expect in time that epherma will improve their skins and release many great things. Epherma also made amazing makeup for the sims 2, so I hope they will do the same for the sims 3.
I checked in in CAS. It worked well for all the sims I checked it out on, which is fairly rare for a skin. Usually they only look good on one 'type' and look like crap on other types. I liked how it looked on my self-sim as well.
I however am not a fan of the eye-defaults. I prefer smaller eyes with a bit more detail an variability.

The only thing I don't like about these skins are the lips, but I can live with that if it means getting this awesome skin.
I also loved Ephemera's TS2 skins so this is great to see.
I like the shine on the bridge and tip of the nose, and the area around the eyes looks pretty nice too. I don't care for the lips as much as I do the rest of the face. I know you can layer lipsticks over it but I like the option of leaving the lips naked without the appearance of perma-gloss.
Nice work, though, and I can't wait to see if she comes out with body skins too!

One reason I think these are terrific is because she actually used the tone ramp that matches EA skins instead of changing it. This means her faces can be used with other skintones without looking mismatched or weird.
It's one reason I dislike LadyFrontbum's skins. The tone ramp is changed and I was all excited to download her Asian faces and then sorely disappointed to see that the yellow skintone was off from the skintone of other skins I liked using. I had to delete her faces because of the mismatch.
I don't know why people change the tone of their skins and separate them in the first place if you know they aren't likely to match other skins out there. If you're going to change the color you might as well keep your faces and bodies together.
^^ Heh. I checked the files. The creator forgot the actual file that makes the eyes show up in game... all that's in there are overlays for eye whites. If that makes sense (not good with technical terms). Didn't put in the actual eye that goes over the eye whites.
So it's not you, just the fault of the creator for not putting in the right file.
The misc file doesn't change the default eyes. It only changes the eye sclera and makes it a little bit darker. I think it's ok to use it with custom default eyes.
^ Not if you use default eyes that are smaller than the ones on the sclera (the image of the eye is on the sclera overlay). Then you'll just have a light gray ring around your defaults and it looks creepy.
Here here on the LFB comment. I love her work, but her ramps annoy me a little. The problems with the asian skin have already been stated, but her Silk/Velvet ramps have fantasy tones smack dab in the middle, making it impossible for my mixed race sims to make non-ridiculous babies. After cracking open the files to get a better look at her textures, I don't think it's the ramps fault. Her base skin tone uses a more yellow hue than a pink one, making it impossible to match it with other creators work. While hers is all singularly wonderful, it irks me to see the clear tonal differences when using her default faces with Kanno's bodies. I'm not trying to bash a great creator, but her stuff could benefit from a little more polish.
But I digress. I love, love, love these faces. I'm grabbing them up immediately. Undereye detail is sorely neglected in a lot of skins, and it really helps push the human/sim boundary a little more.

I hope they make a full body non default version. It looks pretty nice, but I want to use my custom skintones, not EA default skintones.

There's an option for default eyes, but you don't have to download it. It's labeled 'misc'.

The lips look better in CAS than in the pictures. And you can always layer lipstick over it. It blends well.
Ephemera made some of the very best TS2 skins, so I'm really, really excited to try these out. Glad to see her back and creating.

For some reason I can't get the eyes to work, my old defaults work just fine. I cleared out all my caches. HELP
