I make cc. Does it kill you that I also don't like the patterned background when I'm trying to compare 3 pictures? It is a little distracting to me. Anyway, I like the hair retexture. I just can't seem to download it, for some reason. I'll try again another time.

the plaid doesn't bother me, although it seems very low pixel for no apparent reason, it's a nice pattern on it's own. what I wish is that moose would set up a little bit better lighting for their sims.
I like your fixed version, but I like Newsea's texture more also, I would like to see the back we know how the front looks, but I want to know how the back looks with your rexture
By better lighting they mean exactly that. Try placing at least two lamps in front of the sim, so it doesn't create weird shadows. Also try using a monochrome background, it's less distracting and it looks better.
lighting isn't really what is needed. it's the background that needs improvement. you should let the retextures speak for themselves by incorprating a simple, less busy background, and such.
