I never tried them in Sims 2, other than a shoulder bag with a coat. I am not impressed with them in Sims 3, the animations are too weird. They look nice, though. Would be great decor.
You can get this bag via torrent.. Just search the name of the item (NataliS Hermes Birkin bag 001)on google and you'll find it.. That's how I got it..

The way the sims carry the purses is just way to unnatural and weird for me. I must say, I do not usually cook with a purse in my hand.
