I had the same thought about the pupil; there's a bit of shine or something that blocks out/blurs a good portion of the pupil so it sort of looks like there isn't one. It's a little spooky but I think it would look really good on fantastical Sims, or just to give them a rather dreamy-eyed quality.
There's no pupil (or a very tiny faint one), and it's kind of creepy. Maybe that's the point, though?
