Those boots are absolutely horrible. They'd perhaps look good if they didn't look like they were poorly painted onto the Sim's legs, but seriously, ICK. If you're not going to make realistic-looking clothes or shoes, why bother?
I agree with the anon above, they could have made it 3d so it can be worn with skinny jeans. i saw shoes like this before and they are unfortunately in my game.
