This is the problem with stupid teens today. It's ok, karma will get you when you one day have kids of your own and they are charging stuff left and right from shitty websites on your card.
This happens a lot at TSR. It's not always so much the clueless adults getting subscriptions (and I'm NOT talking about those who donate, but those who are sheep for TSR), but it's the dumb kids using their parents' credit card for subscriptions.
Someone mentioned that the Booty doesn't update TSR stuff anymore. I know it hasn't updated anything TSR in well over a month, and I know it isn't because they "delay" TSR stuff as during previous months, stuff from TSR never took this long to get posted. So is it true that they don't update TSR stuff anymore? I find that hard to believe since TSR was one of the main reasons for the Booty to start in the first place.
I just wish someone would update us about why there haven't been TSR items in so long.
If someone can direct me to a way to fix up the files so they're functional and whatever trackers are removed, I can see about uploading. I don't love the texture of this hair and I wish it could be retextured, but I understand the difficulty there.
In order for someone to update TSR at the Booty than people have to donate stuff to the Booty from TSR - for every item uploaded at the Booty- someone has to pay a subscription fee or donation fees for the item- not to mention the Booty removes the trackers from pay items which does take time.
Someone with a sub needs to contact the person in charge of TSR items (listed in the PMBD FAQ) and donate items or TSR items don't get updated- the same thing goes for Rose, Peggy, Raon, Liana etc

I don't think anyone is going to believe that all of a sudden, NO ONE is donating anything from TSR to the Booty anymore when files have been freely shared here, GOS, and other sites the entire time the Booty hasn't been updating TSR stuff. I'm not going to believe everyone is just sitting on those files.
i actually contacted one of the mods on the booty to talk about sharing one of the ulker hairs. i never got an answer, surprsingly. doesnt help that right now the site seems to be down.... is it? i dont know
The site is up for me- and yes the Booty does sit on files specifically newer files from sites that have been known to share user information(like I don't known TSR, Rose, Peggy) - it greatly reduces the risk of the donator being caught and banned. It is much safer to wait until 200 or 300 people have downloaded something and the trackers have been removed than it is to post it after 10 or 20 people have downloaded it. You may wait a little longer but it guarantees that the person who donates files will be able to continue doing so.

I too would like to know how to remove the trackers. I'm willing to be a donator but not willing to get caught, and the booty people will not answer and when they do they never post my files (some I sent to CatofWar months ago still have not been posted) so anyone who knows how to clean up files let me know
I sent some Newsea files to Paysites Must Be Destroyed last month and they never got put on the Booty. I sent them to CatOfWar. He never answered. Maybe he died. (Like, I'm serious ... some people die in car accidents, ya know?) Maybe TSR sent their goons to go rub him out. Could have happened.

You're not getting what people are saying here. I wasn't talking about the Booty sitting on files, I was saying that I don't believe all the people who are freely sharing files here, at GOS, and other sites are just sitting on their files and not donating to the Booty. We know how the Booty works. However, what I am saying is that the Booty has NEVER delayed TSR files for this long period of time. In fact, I know that during the summer and even before, sometimes TSR files were uploaded to the Booty ONE DAY after they were released at TSR. An example of this is Cemre's Mojito living room set, part 2. I don't expect all TSR files to be uploaded within 24 hours, but generally TSR stuff doesn't take more than a week tops. TSR gets many more downloads than Rose, Peggy, or other smaller sites, so that's why TSR stuff has never been delayed as long as the other stuff.
You forget how popular TSR is. Newsea hairs get 100s of downloads within a day. They generally hit over 1000 relatively quickly. Other TSR items get at least a few hundred downloads in a short period of time as well.
Something IS up and there is a reason why the Booty hasn't updated TSR files in such a long period of time. They've never gone this long without updating TSR files, so they just aren't being posted now. Plenty of people have said they have sent their files awhile ago to the Booty and they are not up.
I'm going to pitch in and say that I sent some TSR files, like several others who have posted here, AGES ago and they are NOT up.
Neither CatofWar nor AshRedfern have responded. I'm not sure if their inboxes are full or what, but I know for sure that AshRedfern is making announcements about updating Peggy and other pay files, but NOTHING about TSR.
I'm not going to keep wasting my money and sending files if no one is going to tell me what is going on here. There should be some type of announcement at the Booty.

While I agree that something's up, it could be as simple as people contacting the wrong mod. AFAIK, CatOfWar is no longer updating, and has not done so for awhile.
If donators weren't aware of this, it's possible that they've been sending their files to CatOfWar, who hasn't been posting them. Has anyone attempted to contact Ash Redfern? MissBonBon is also listed as a mod there, though I have no idea if she's still active.

On sites I've checked, others are being shared. I was able to get some things from Mutske, Angela (her insomnia kitchen), cashcraft, shino&kcr, Simcredible, and a few others.
In fact, that's when I first noticed something was up. I'd seen the Mutske door and window add-ons (adoorable & caesar) shared on GOS and foreign sites. At least one set of add-ons was released in July and they are not up on the Booty.

I wonder if converting TSR files to .package files would remove the trackers? I mean, I do this anyway with all the Sims3Pack files I get because I prefer to use combined packages for my cc, but I wonder if doing things that way would protect the people who shared the files.
What I've been doing right now is keeping a list of all the stuff from TSR that I want and waiting until either the Booty updates or until someone uploads a torrent of all the TSR stuff that isn't on the Booty. I know GOS was releasing torrents of the TSR files, but for whatever reason, they stopped doing it. I can't find any other sites that have the TSR files on them.

The booty hasn't updated in a while because we are cleaning it out. We are trying to reorganize it, and find missing files. Not to mention we are VERY short handed right now, and are doing the best we can do with 1 1/12 people. Please be patient.
If you would like to help speed up this process, and have a TSR sub, please contact Ash redfern or missbonbon about sharing.
Also, even if someone here does donate items, please don't expect the booty to update immediately with your files. We have a process that is very time consuming we have to go through to ensure everyone's safety. Along with waiting for download pools to expand as previous posters have mentioned.

This is a good call. My apologies to other other anon if they were real, but TSR subscribers really need to protect themselves. I'm sure the booty will eventually include it, or you can keep a lookout on GOS's TSR sharing thread.

ReplyDeleteThis is a good call. My apologies to other other anon if they were real, but TSR subscribers really need to protect themselves. I'm sure the booty will eventually include it, or you can keep a lookout on GOS's TSR sharing thread.
