You didn't decrapify this, did you? Because at PMBD, it was said that TSR trackers could be removed through decrapifying...and Pescado has given strict warnings before never to share decrapified files.
I just want to make sure before I or anyone else downloads.

Oh, shove it up your ass. There are lots of donators to the Booty around here like Janira said, I am one of them. I and others have a right to wonder why TSR files haven't been uploaded to the Booty in awhile when people have been freely sharing them for weeks now. People are sending files and getting no response. It's not that people aren't buying and sharing.

I agree. The Booty cannot exist without those of us who donate. I don't appreciate getting files to share with everyone else and then getting zero response when I see them updating other sections of the Booty.

However, with a huge site like TSR, a subscriber only file of this nature gets well over a 1000 downloads. Even clothing gets at least a few hundred in a very short period of time, so it's not like there's a chance of them being easily narrow down the two donators once the files are cleaned. Besides, I've seen them update some TSR stuff relatively quickly but now there's been silence for weeks. What gives?
I don't think it needs a retexture. Newsea's textures look great in the game. I just don't understand why Newsea decided to join leagues with a pay site. Bleah. I've personally given several Newsea hairs to the Booty, because it's illegal for Sims Resource to charge for them under copyright laws.

You're forgetting that the booty removes the trackers before uploading the files, whereas sites like GOS and here don't. IIRC, the booty needs the file to be donated by more than one source in order to hide the donators' identities from TSR.

I get what you're saying, but I just can't get up in arms about it. When it comes to TSR, I very rarely make assumptions because they're shady as hell. If you're concerned about why your donated files specifically are being held back for so long, why not contact them and ask?
CatofWar's account says it's still active, but they haven't been posting the updates the last few months. I'd try Ash Redfern and see if you can get a response.

yeah i hope PMBD gets things running again w/ newsea. i know there are several posts for the exchange w/ the hair but for some odd reason, my game NEVER has downloaded the hairs w/ the sims since June of 09'. don't know why people claim that but it doesnt work for me

Anon thanks so much for uploading this hair. TSR is really awful. You have to be a subcriber to get the good stuff and the free stuff is usually a bunch of crap. One more request could you please upload JP158 Satin Sexy Dress by Juttaponath. I've been dying for this dress and it seems ot will never make it to booty. Calm down. This entire fight is pointless until you contact someone at PMBD. If you are the same anon who posted before, CatofWar has not been posting the updates for months now, so they are not the best person to contact with your question. I suggest you try again, and see if you can get a response.

So one time you don't receive an answer warrants you throwing a fit? No. If you were to do proper research you would know that Cat has been active in visiting the site, but hasn't posted updates in a while. Therefore that should be signaling that maybe she doesn't work on it anymore.

Actually you are correct in that the booty can't survive without donations. But you are incorrect in that booty staff doesn't pay for subs. I think I have paid well over 200 dollars in subs during my time helping. Not once did I throw it around (well until now) for people to kiss my ass. No, I continued to read peoples abuse of the booty staff such as yourself who are so ingrateful that ONLY a handful of people spend time to ensure that everyone gets clean safe files. But I guess removing trackers and viruses and BUYING the damn content isn't enough for some people. No, everyone's just so damn greedy and they want it then and now.
And go ahead and stop donating to the booty if it pisses you off so much. YOU don't have to do anything. You just send them the files and be on your way. You have NO IDEA the work that goes into them to ensure they are cleaned and safe. So you don't like the time it takes to update? Then stop donating and buy ALL your damn donation sets yourself then.

No. And like I said earlier, whomever was responding previously was spoiling you. ALOT of work goes in on the booty side to get things running. And for a while it was 2 or 3 people upkeeping it. Excuse me, but I have paid well OVER 200 dollars of my own money to help the booty when I was a helper. I know of others who equally do the same. Staff has paid for PLENTY of items on their own, and just because it's not advertised, doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
Second of all, hun, if you don't like donating to the booty then donate to GOS. I'm sure the staff would appreciate not having to tend to every last one of your little demands.

I just wish there was an alternative to the Booty - a safe file storage system that is hosted somewhere TSR can't threaten and get yanked.

ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter. TSR stuff is delayed depending on the amount of downloads to protect the donators. I mean if TSR bans all those who donate to the booty, who will be left to donate? Plus some of the smaller named artists don't have as long of a hold because they aren't big named.
So a sims 2 pay item would get released faster that a sims 3 pay item.

Right there is where the booty has updated with TSR items. They don't list which items to protect donators.
But of course if everyone was to read the faq's and actually search the board they would find the answers to their questions...

You aren't well aware of the process. Being a past helper I know exactly what happens on the booty side once we receive files and it's a LOOOOOOONG process. It takes considerable more time for TSR items at that. Donators send their files and be done with it. You have no idea the amount of work that goes into the booty.
And considering it's only 2-3 people that are actively taking care of the booty and hundreds of sims 2 and 3 sites... well you do the math...

Besides, I've seen them update some TSR stuff relatively quickly but now there's been silence for weeks. What gives?"

I have donated multiple times before and always check up on my files. It's only this past time that I've received no answer. I'm not just some random person who doesn't donate and eagerly wants to know when the newest TSR files arrive. But if we are PAYING for these items to share, we have a right to check up on them.
Booty helper or not, the Booty cannot exist without the several donators it gets unless you guys decide to pay for everything yourselves, which isn't going to happen. You're not keeping us from anything or doing us any favors, hun, considering we're the ones who have already bought the files. We aren't the ones who need them from you. It's others who cannot afford the stuff we want to share who need you.

If you are the same anon who posted before, CatofWar has not been posting the updates for months now, so they are not the best person to contact with your question. I suggest you try again, and see if you can get a response.

ReplyDeleteAgain if you had read the faq you would know to not contact anyone. Booty staff knows TSR is behind and from what I know they are trying to correct it.
In fact, if you hate donating to the booty so much go donate it over at GOS instead of acting like a little child about it.

So one time you don't receive an answer warrants you throwing a fit? No. If you were to do proper research you would know that Cat has been active in visiting the site, but hasn't posted updates in a while. Therefore that should be signaling that maybe she doesn't work on it anymore.

Actually you are correct in that the booty can't survive without donations. But you are incorrect in that booty staff doesn't pay for subs. I think I have paid well over 200 dollars in subs during my time helping. Not once did I throw it around (well until now) for people to kiss my ass. No, I continued to read peoples abuse of the booty staff such as yourself who are so ingrateful that ONLY a handful of people spend time to ensure that everyone gets clean safe files. But I guess removing trackers and viruses and BUYING the damn content isn't enough for some people. No, everyone's just so damn greedy and they want it then and now.
And go ahead and stop donating to the booty if it pisses you off so much. YOU don't have to do anything. You just send them the files and be on your way. You have NO IDEA the work that goes into them to ensure they are cleaned and safe. So you don't like the time it takes to update? Then stop donating and buy ALL your damn donation sets yourself then.

ReplyDeleteApparently you didn't. Because you would have KNOWN to NOT contact anyone regarding TSR items period. EVEN if you did donate previously. It's apparent whomever responded to you before was spoiling you, but it clearly states that NO ONE is supposed to contact the staff about it period.

Your right you do. BUT if you message someone who has clearly not been in touch with others, and then throw a fit about it, is that okay? No. And like I said earlier, whomever was responding previously was spoiling you. ALOT of work goes in on the booty side to get things running. And for a while it was 2 or 3 people upkeeping it. Explain to me how people are not only supposed to upkeep the booty (which TSR has over 100 artists within itself) but respond to everyone's demands about knowing when their items will update?

Excuse me, but I have paid well OVER 200 dollars of my own money to help the booty when I was a helper. I know of others who equally do the same. Staff has paid for PLENTY of items on their own, and just because it's not advertised, doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
Second of all, hun, if you don't like donating to the booty then donate to GOS. I'm sure the staff would appreciate not having to tend to every last one of your little demands.
