I want to love this, but the braids look rather fake to me. It's still quite nice, but I guess it doesn't make "love" status. Much better than the EA pigtails, though!
The braids are beautiful, but around and above the ears I cannot find it right. But I cannot put my problem into words. I'll wait for some retexture and hope that will fix it.
It's nice to see Raon doing something different, all her hairs were starting to look the same to me. But I agree that there's something off about the ear area. I think the mash just has too much volume in an area there it doesn't make much sense.
This is really nice. I can see the blurriness but I really like it. I think the textures are actually great! I really like it but I wonder if it needs fixing...

That's what braids do. Unless you just cut your hair, hair tends to thin out a little at the bottom. Especially since when you pull it from the sides or to the sides, the hair is no longer even anyhow, and you're going to have thinner parts at the bottom.
I absolutely love this hair. I am, however, wary about what's hidden in what's wrong with it. Raon usually has some kind of issues. Besides textures, that is (and that issue is generally that the base is too dark, so blondes turn out green).
Yeah, braids do tend to do that... but perhaps not as much as in this hairstyle. It does seem to dwindle too much, IMO, but I'm basing this on how my hair looks braided. My hair is no where near as thick as this Sim's hair is and the braids on mine don't go from being super thick at the top to super skinny at the bottom. It's more gradual and not as noticeable as this.
But then again, it's a game, not reality and not based on my particular hair. So who cares. It's nice compared to Raon's other works, but I'm not much for braided hair anyway (I was just bored when I tried it on my hair -.-)

Well my hair does exactly this. I have super thick hair and when I braid my hair it does end up looking like this on the bottom. maybe my hair is layered more than yours, who knows. but all I am saying is that yes there are braids that look like this IRL
To me it does not look like the braids dwindled down, it looks like the braid itself is tighter at the bottom but has loosened at the top. This is a common thing that happens after you've had braids in for a long time so to me it looks realistic
^ yes.... I have long, thick hair. I often wear braids like this and the braids do narrow toward the end. That may be bc the hair is thinner at the ends (and bc of layering).. I like these a lot! TY
I wouldn't recommend the download. The hair is cute, but is missing LODs as usual. And thus the parting of the hair at the top of the head becomes a big, gaping bald spot as you zoom out.

the top looks real then once you get to the braids, it looks fuzzy and fake.

Except for the blurriness, these look just like real braids. Can't wait to see the inevitable fix and re-textures.

ReplyDeleteVery nice hair, the custom braids I've seen for sims 3 so far haven't really impressed me. This looks just right though. :)
