  8. This hair has 12576 polys

Probably robodl checked the mesh with the morphs

  10. But 12000 is much more better than 62000 :)

  12. Yeah I'm very sorry about that! Thanks Tum for setting me straight :)

I nearly fainted when I saw 62k XD

  13. So, if we install this, we will have two versions of the same hair?

  14. Why do we have to download Newsea's mesh for this to work? If I wanted to deal with T$R I would just download the original.

  15. "Why do we have to download Newsea's mesh for this to work? If I wanted to deal with T$R I would just download the original."

Because they're hoping that this way, TSR won't attack them for it.

  16. Thanks a lot, it looks much better!

  17. So I heard TSR gives you virus to your downloaded files that messes up with your sims if you share their files that happen to have tracker (even if you delete the shared files at once when finding out that was wrong)

and even if you continue just using the files for your own game only they still do that to you. is this REALLY true O_O

  18. is it christmas already? :)

  19. ^^
very true. so it doesn't surprise me that the people retexturing aren't getting cocky by sharing a link to the original mesh.

  20. "even if you delete the shared files at once when finding out that was wrong"

Darling, T$R are the ones who are wrong. Never ever forget that.

  21. Alright Thanks for telling me. I guess I better not go that site again.. scary

  22. This is an historical day! :)

  23. Sure hope that this system is long lived.

    Great idea!

  24. Eeeewww... I need the original "donation-only" mesh to make this work? No thanks, I'm never dealing with T$® ever again.

    ReplyDelete
  25. ^ You dealt with them at all in the first place? That IS a shame.

I think it's funny so many people are scared of retexturing their hairs (withOUT the original mesh) because they'll get in TROUBLE of some kind. TSR is doing serious illegal activity every day on a grand scale! There's no grounds whatsoever for them to have any right to give others a hard time for retextures.

    ReplyDelete
  26. ^^ Great points here. Yes, it's actually ***illegal*** what TSR is doing on multiple fronts. Honestly, it's just one of those situations where they figure 'if we can get enough people to believe it's wrong, then eventually it IS wrong'.

In some ways, TSR is the biggest pirate of us all. Who cares what threaten others; they have no power to actually do anything whatsoever.

  27. TSR allows TS2 retextures, they just don't want you including the mesh as that is considered sharing their files which is bad. No one has done this before because Newsea's hairs don't work with the normal texture replacing method, that's why aWT's method is so important (allows us to have Newsea hairs without the mesh)

  28. I never understood these silly threats by T$R either, as they are meaningless.

The proof is right in front of us. MATY has received multiple "threats" threatening legal action to remove all their T$R files off of their site... yet they have been giving these threats for YEARS and 'oddly' nothing has happened. Go figure! lol

  29. If by "virus" you mean "tracker", then yes. If by "virus" you mean a "virus" that messes with your game.... no. I think that would have set EA in an uproar and be sued for spreading viruses via the Exchange :) Plus we'd have heard about it here. A million times a day. Every day.

Pescado runs his own server, which isn't based in the U.S. Most other sites depending on outside hosting services that will take them down if TSR complains. That's why GOS is now on Pescado's server, and why TSR was able to take them down (briefly) before he moved them over.

So no, TSR's threats are not empty. What they do is morally bankrupt as hell.

Actually they are empty. GOS happened to be hosted on GoDaddy which in notorious for taking down sites if someone so happens to sneeze incorrectly at them. Secondly the only reason GoDaddy listened to TSR was because they claimed GOS was infringing on their copyright. Which technically until they can prove they have registered that any item hosted on their site is under their copyright their arguments hold no water. Remember, claiming copyright and actually having copyrights are two totally different animals.

Anyways, looks lovely Robodl! It's sad that it does require the mesh considering on blocky newsea's meshes are to begin with.

  32. While I applaud creators actually offering Newsea retextures (finally), I must say that this looks like an EA texture and not relevant to my interests.
But I'm glad I have a choice! Thank you!

Haha... yeah... anyone using Pooklet textures sucks, save Anubis XD

  34. What I don't like about robodl textures is that they look so dull looking that his textures would be better if he retextured EA hairs instead.
