First Snow... YAY
I'm not sure why the pictures came out like something out of Sleepy Hollow but these are pictures of the first snowfall, taken from my bedroom porch just minutes ago.
...Kinda. I live in the snow belt, so i've been seeing the stuff since November. It's a huge pain to plow, but its so beautiful, I could never imagine living in a world without it.
The midwest of the US has had snow since the beginning of December. It is starting to melt now, but I was a bit excited too when it first fell. Enjoy Joe!
Only your first? Here in Minnesota we had our first snow in November and had a snow storm which snowed 16 inches deep and we're expecting 5-8 inches of snow tonight.
I wish it would snow, It's plenty cold and we've had several snow showers but they never amount to anything! The annoying part is that they're getting drenched with snow if you drive an hour east or west -_- tis the annoyance of a central Pennsylvanian boy!
wow breath taking! we've been having some good snowfall 2 days ago in London, its going to snow a lot tommorrow too. I dont think snow will be enough to pull me away from sims though hehe :D
Wow, here in Germany its snowing for 1 month :-! I don't like snow. When i moved from russia i thought here wouldn't be that much snow, just a few days ago here were an blizzard.
South England, we've had snow on and off for a few weeks - but only one or two snow days from school. And I know the amount we get is nothing to complain about as some people walk to work through several inches and a blizzard.
I agree with Katsu here - it is nice to hear about the climate all over other continents.
And initially I did think it was something from EA, but frankly seeing everyone talk about snow turned out to be more interesting.
I also thought this was EA announcing a Seasons EP.
But these photos are gorgeous, Joe. Thanks for sharing. I've never seen snow outside of photos, though it has been raining for three days where I live.
How did you make the last picture, Joe? Really cool!
Someone above said, that there are only 3 centimeters of snow in Germany. Today, the traffic around frankfurt is collapsed. I don't know how to reach the office. Nothing goes. There are maybe 20 centimeters.
In Central Alabama there's been been a few minor snow flurries, a lot of rain, and its been effing cold. I don't like cold, especially when the heater breaks down all the time. :(
When I moved here I thought I'd get less cold. And we got around a foot of snow one March. Ditto last January. Doesn't feel like I've had a spring or a fall this year. Just summer and winter.
REAL snow is no good, guys) We have it here in Russia since the beginning of November...It's everywhere and it's almost impossible to walk((( But these pics are so lovely, nothing like our enormous snowdrifts.
Czech Republic, Europe We got snow one month and a half. Every day it snows. In early December, the snow calamity in almost all of Europe. Yesterday i saw arctic (polar) aurora.
I live in the U.S. Southwest (high desert), and we've had a couple of snowfalls; one the night before Thanksgiving and another good one last Thursday night, but it doesn't stay on the ground long here - melts within a day or two, but stays on the mountains longer. It's still pretty. I love it. Your photos are beautiful and unusual. You really should frame them.
-UGH- in Ireland the snow is just getting to be ridiculous: about two weeks ago we had the heaviest snowfall I've ever seen, then it went away about a week later.
THEN it snowed and we're all snowed in once again, and the temperatures are -14 degrees Celsius and the novelty of the snow has worn off. Hold me!
It's been snowing here in kentucky since Thanksgiving. And then we had a mini ice storm earlier this week and now it was snowing overnight again. I just don't like the snow because I cannot drive in it at all
Sorry everyone Jubes number 2 over there can't go outside because she has a rare skin condition that makes her skin swell up more than it is at the moment when she's exposed to any type of weather. thats why she hates it when people talk about the climate. its sad. very sad. if you wanna see a pic of her after she's outside just google 'lil wayne'
Wow. That's so pretty. ♥
ReplyDeleteThat looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteWow! This is really pretty Joe! ♥
ReplyDeleteLiving up in Wisconsin, I get lots of snow too. We're actually expecting a snow storm again tonight.
ReplyDeleteSNOW! I've never seen snow :(
ReplyDeleteI love snow! I grew up in a place that never gets it, but now I live in a snowy place...we've had snow for over a month already now.

Longer than I've been alive, actually.

ReplyDelete^Not everyone lives where there's a lot of snow...
ReplyDeleteI like about that amount of snow. And what do I get? A f-ing meter!! In Germany, we used to get like 2 centimeters -.-
ReplyDeletelol last week we got snow and ice a plenty where I live! Something really exciting (in a innocent child like way) about the season's first snow:)
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the first picture I thought EA released pictures of what might be Seasons EP. LOL

These are lovely. They'd look great as Sims 3 paintings! :D
ReplyDeleteThat looks gorgeous! I love the snow! =D
ReplyDeleteWe just got snow a few weeks ago, which is unusual for our area. Usually the snow waits until January to get really bad.
ReplyDelete"When I saw the first picture I thought EA released pictures of what might be Seasons EP."
ReplyDeleteMe too, and then I got really disappointed. Still cool pics, though.
Absolutely beautiful photos. Thank you for sharing.

ReplyDeleteOh goodness, just stepped out and it's snowing again. Should have known when the weather warmed up. Oh well, snowballs anyone?
ReplyDeleteAll you guys talking about your climate as if people care.
ReplyDeleteHow cute.
^ Dude, calm down. I care and as long as at least one person does, that's more than enough.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to share little experiences like this. Shows we're actually people with lives outside the sim world.

*Throw snowballs on Jubes* XD
ReplyDeleteI think it's pretty cool to read about climates all over the world. Too bad Jubes can't fall into a frozen lake, or something.
ReplyDeletewhy are those trees have no leaves?

Also, Jubes, acting like your opinion matters the most in the world and everyone should be hanging on your words.

(Does anyone else find it ironic that Jubes has a blog about funny pictures, yet is more depressing than cancer?)

ReplyDeleteNous avons une vraie tempĂȘte de neige, qui n'existe plus dans la nature!
ReplyDelete^ Ne me quitte pas, mon Cher! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely pictures! It has yet to snow here, but it's still so cold. Enjoy your snow.
ReplyDeleteMy camera usually makes dots like that when I use the flash at night. I think it might be the light reflecting off water droplets in the air.
ReplyDelete^It is called "bokeh."
ReplyDeleteAlso, I wish I had a bedroom porch.
In Poland first snow fall down half month ago. I hate snow.
