Chinese Bamboo is some of the most sought after bamboo in the world, according to the in-game description. And yet it costs 200 simoleons? No. Now it costs 2,000.
This mod is intended for those of us who can never find anything to spend money on or work towards being able to afford. Those of us who play the game and get bored when we have too much money!
Tree prices are all overhauled to be anywhere from 5x to 10x their original price. I seriously doubt getting fully grown bamboo straight from china would cost the same as a boom box!

ReplyDeleteAlso... While the thought.. (something expensive to buy) is nice... Uh.. I don't landscape my sim homes enough to bother with this. :/ ... I'd rather have usable, awesome, uber expensive crap to spend my sim's cash on, than more expensive trees.

ReplyDeleteI'd think a "maid/babysitter/butler/handyman costs a lot more mod", or a "no more free school/hospital/taxi/subway/anything else I didn't think of" type mod would be a better way to get rid of money if your sims are too rich, and I really wish someone would make one. But whatever. This could be handy too...sometimes...I guess.
I seriously doubt shivar knows how to mesh or re texture.

ReplyDeleteCreators don't create for YOU guys. We create for ourselves, and then we share. Its not a job, we don't HAVE to create at all, and if we didn't, I am sure most of you would be bored as all hell when it comes to Sims, so just shutup, and only comment if you think its good, and if you don't think so, offer ACCEPTABLE points that the creator can improve on.. For instance, maybe the prices are too high, but hes got the right idea..
Seriously, this is why I've basically given up when it comes to uploading. I have worlds I am working on, lots I have built, but you're all just too stupid and inconsiderate to appreciate any of it, from ANY creators that give up their time to offer nice things for your game.

Listen to yourselves... forever making excuses to make yourselves feel better for being less than kind. I have news for you. It's not okay to hurt someone's feelings. And you will all learn this hard lesson as you grow older. You may think that the internet is great because it's a way you can hurt someone's feelings without getting into trouble... but you should be using the net as a tool to learn how to communicate in the first place. These are real people, not just text on the screen, and this generation really struggles with empathy. People aren't just there for you to use and abuse. How would it make YOU feel? Honestly...
And yes, I can just see it now, tons of replies telling me to get over it and that I suck, etc, but that's just another way for all of you to make excuses for your behaviour and never face what your generation is becoming. One day you will find yourself without friends, without jobs and without families, and you'll wonder why, and what I'm saying right now will never come to mind, because I'm just some 'random on the internet'.

ReplyDeleteI've had stuff I have done posted here multiple times. I actually prefer, 'feedback' to, "zomg! awesome!" .. What exactly did you like? What did you not like? .. And when my stuff was declared sucky by all originally, I just stayed low for a few months, improved my work, and tried again. Last time the reaction to my things was quite positive. If people hate your stuff, there is probably a REASON!

ReplyDeleteWhether it's useful or not, there's ALWAYS going to be criticism... any mature creator can deal with that, whether it's for TS3 or any other walks of life. If you can't deal with it, GROW UP.

All criticism is negative; "negative criticism" is a tautology. You may be searching for the opposite of "constructive criticism" (criticism which seeks to aid in the improving of its target), which would be "destructive criticism" (or, perhaps, "a waste of webspace").

Stating that something is worthless/a waste of space/whatever is not a serious examination, nor does it point out any particular faults or shortcomings. Criticism is not always constructive, no; it is, however, specific.

I agree with you on this and would also like to say that it is not only creators who are getting annoyed.
I am not a creator and am very grateful for the generosity of the creators and am saddened by the fact that you don't upload anymore. However I would also like to say that a lot of these remarks are made by children and trolls.
I have seen a lot of comments on this blogsite which are really critique in the best possible way. In other words trying to help the creator improve which I think is what any good creator would want.
I am a singer and believe me the critique that I have received was sometimes painful but necessary for me to grow, improve and in so doing make it an enjoyable performance for all.
Critique which is given and received in this manner is only good.
Ignore the trolls and the commenters that are plain mean and concentrate on the others.

But if they don't know how to differentiate between flamewars and a real comment, that's not exactly the fault of the anons. It's the creator's own lack of internet savvy and/or a thin skin. No insult intended, but they ought to get over it.
I do agree that there is a major sense of entitlement amongst some downloaders, though. Problem is, they don't necessarily represent the majority of us. They're just louder. :)

ReplyDeleteOh, please. My mother would tell them not to take everything so personally or to get off the internet. There are a lot of rude people out there who need to grow up and treat others with more respect, but anyone with half a brain knows that they are best ignored in favor of those people who provide real, well-thought-out commentary, positive OR negative.
This is not a useful mod.
