I love the hair! It looks so cute on all ages. The textures are not my fave but they are pretty good, and the mesh looks great. Overall I think it's really nice.
And I know this is petty, but the big red "DO NOT DISTRIBUTE!" at the end is a little off-putting. You do realize that it's entirely legal to redistribute, right? Most people aren't going to redistribute out of respect for your policies (and that's good), but anyone who doesn't care about policies is going to do what they please regardless of your use of all-caps and exclamation points. So how about a *friendly* reminder of your policy rather than the internet equivalent of shouting? I know, it's petty, like I said, but that's how I feel. Sorry to even bring this up, but it has always bugged me.
I still LOVE this hair and I think you do great work! Thank you a million times for sharing.
"And I know this is petty, but the big red "DO NOT DISTRIBUTE!" at the end is a little off-putting. You do realize that it's entirely legal to redistribute, right? I won't change them, because I'm just protecting my stuff :) It's not like I'm shouting, I'm just making clear my rules. Redistribution may be "legal" for those who don't care, but I do. If you create something, you want to receive credit and not to see your creations everywhere and other users saying that they made something you made.
^Glad you weren't offended, I was worried after I posted that. I wasn't saying you should change your policies (those are totally up to you). And the way you present your policies is up to you too, even if it seems a bit overly aggressive to me.
If you knew basically anything about creating pretty much anything you wouldn't say that
You might say its over the top but it's entirely justified, It is EXTREMELY common to find plagiarized lots on the exchange not only that but some of those lots have actually gotten featured while the real legit version does not, and they just claim it as their own!
If you take the time to make something like this great hair, you wanna receive credit for your work and not see it posted up every which way
Anubis, you rock, and I will tell you why. :) I discovered this hair on a TS2 blog and thought "D: I WANT THAT FOR TS3!" and then I find this! You rock!
~gasp~ I love love love this hair! The bangs, the ponytail...the whole mesh looks great, and I like the textures too. Immediate download!
(On a side note: Robodl95, no matter how someone presents their policy, if another person wants to plagiarize then that's what they are going to do. Spelling out the policy is really only for the people who care about policies in the first place, so it pays to be polite.
But Anubis, you get major awesome points for taking anon's comments in stride. I didn't notice it before but I can kind of see their point, so it's really nice to see a creator taking a comment to heart even if it has nothing to do with the content. I <3 you, in a non-creepy way.)
I don't care for the texture, personally, but I love the mesh itself.
And to the anti-ass-licking anon...you don't have to be a dick. I'm against over-the-top drooling comments too, but there's nothing wrong with people saying they like something, the same way as there's nothing wrong with people saying they DON'T like something.
Anubis is so full of herself, apparently it's OK to steal others work, disregarding their policy as long as you just give them "credit".
"It is not permitted to redistribute RAONJENA items" http://nene.modthesims.info/download.php?t=381016
Funny how YOU don't want people to redistribute your work, but you gladly steal others work and ignore THEIR wishes to have people kiss your "talented" ass. "DON'T STEAL MY STOLEN GOODS!!!"
I'm not redistributing, I'm converting. That's accepted. And if any of the original creators ask me to took their hairs down, I will because I respect their decisions. Have you seen a XM sims hair out of XM Sims? No, because Flora told everybody that she doesn't want people converting her hairs, and everybody agreed. Other creators didn't say anything or have accepted conversions, as long as you give them credit. If you spent hours of your life converting a hair, you'd like to receive credit for it, don't you?
"If you spent hours of your life converting a hair, you'd like to receive credit for it, don't you?"
Yeah, if it took me several hours to rob the bank I sure would appreciate the cops noticing my HARD WORK and not put me in jail. I know, why not ask Raonjena if it's OK with her to convert her hairs, I'm sure that when she fucking puts in a note "Don't redistribute" she dosen't want her work redistributed! You'd think using the same word you would understand it.
You are basically claiming this hairstyle yours because converted it and nobody is allowed to take it. So what it took you this and that time? You never made that hair in the first place, Raonjena made it and she decides whether or not it's going to be redistributed and you ignored it.
But hey, if I convert one of your stuff to some other game, say that Christmas dress, it's OK right? I mean, I can steal it as long as I'm just converting it, I don't even need to ask you since converting isn't stealing. Unless you're a hypocrite.
^I personally think that the EULA has it right: once you put it on the internet, anyone has the right to redistribute it or alter it for a different use, preferably with credit. It's not copyrighted or something. People should respect creator's policies simply out of kindness and respect. But whatever.
I certainly do not see the comparison between robbing a bank and converting a hair. For one thing, it is ENTIRELY acceptable throughout almost all of the Simming community to not only redistribute but to alter items from PAYSITES, and (shock of shocks) Raonjena is a paysite.
^^Anubis is also just like a murderer and a child-rapist because he converts pay hairs. Did you know that? I know it doesn't seem like the same thing but it's TOTALLY THE SAME THING.
^Looks like one of the "Lip Ice" lipsticks to me. If it's not that, I THINK it's from one of the other Asian creators who has been posted a lot in the past month or so. It's similar to Lemon Leaf's Honey Temptation Lips (Crystal Lip 3), but I don't THINK it's that one.
Sorry that's not a big help but it might help you narrow it down if nobody else knows for sure.
Oops, wasn't Anbuis a guy? I see a "her"... Sure it follows Anubis "Rules of Stealing" policy correctly. "I can steal your stuff - you can't steal mine!"
Hey Anubis, why so quiet? Is it OK for me to convert your christmas dress to another game if I just give you credit? I mean, I will spend OWWA'S converting it, I deserve credit for my HARD WORK!
Redistribution and editing of ANYTHING is legal, pay or free. Credit and policies are something that the Simming community does out of *respect* for creators, not because they *have* to. Generally speaking, artists do not "steal" or re-use content from free creators, but pay creators are fair game.
Of course, there are plenty of people who don't credit free creators either, but although that is frowned upon there is technically nothing illegal about it. It's just...icky.
For YEARS, it's been implicitly accepted that PAYSITES don't count: anyone can edit, redistribute and basically do whatever they want with pay content, because pay content is sleazy in the first place. You break the law and screw the stupider simmers out of money (the law with TS2, anyway), and you forfeit the right to stake some sort of "IT'S MINE AND NOBODY ELSE CAN TOUCH IT" claim on your content.
If you are a free artist, you don't have any LEGAL rights, but anyone who steals your stuff is a dick. I think credit is all any free creator should demand, but I understand them feeling a little over-protective when a lot of people don't even give credit.
That's how it has always been done, and how it probably always WILL be done. I personally think that it'd be nice if all creators were a little more open with their stuff, and that everyone had a "have at it" sort of policy. But that won't happen until people start giving credit for other people's work.
Judie at AAS is being ripped off by Lusille, who doesn't give credit. If Lusille gave credit it would be a whole different story, but I can understand when creators in Judie's position get a little over-protective. Thankfully Judie seems too mature and level-headed for that.
Blaaaaah rambling. In short, Anubis is doing nothing wrong converting Raon's hairs even if it's against their policy, because Raon is a paysite. And it would also be nice if Anubis had a more open policy, but I understand why he doesn't.
"For YEARS, it's been implicitly accepted that PAYSITES don't count: anyone can edit, redistribute and basically do whatever they want with >>>pay content<<<, because pay content is sleazy in the first place."
The Raon hair is FREE, it's not a Pay item! You admit that Anubis is a dick because he stole someones FREE CONTENT without permission. Paysite or not, Raon is offering that hair for free, it dosen't fit your "sleazy content" description.
I guess the silence from Anubis speaks for itself, I still haven't gotten an answer about converting his free stuff, because you know that any answer he will give will contradict his own "policy".
^ Actually, it does fit the "sleazy content" description. It is still on a paysite. Irregardless if the item is free or not, it's always been the silent "law" that pay site owners have no right nor say in what happens with their content.
For instance, let's say I have a shop. I'm running a deal that is buy 3 get one free. Well just because you got the one free doesn't mean you still didn't get it from a shop. Now once that item is received, free or not, the new owner can decide what happens with it.
What I'm rather curious about is why your so hell bent on proving Anubis a hypocrite over something as tiny as how Anubis words his policy. It's not like he's sharing your personal information, or threaten to sue or anything.
I'm not responding anything because you're a trouble maker. I don't deal with trouble makers. I bet you're the same person who called my work mediocre long time ago and stupidly argued when I uploaded my sim Cindy. And you are against me, again. I would like to know why are you acting like this, really, I don't understand.
"The Raon hair is FREE, it's not a Pay item!...Paysite or not, Raon is offering that hair for free, it dosen't fit your "sleazy content" description."
Wrong. That is not my definition. Paysite? Pay content, even if that particular item is free. That's how I see it. But THANK you for trying to speak for me. As the anon after you explained, ANY content from a paysite is sleazy content.
"I'm not responding anything because you're a trouble maker. I don't deal with trouble makers."
Good for you, Anubis. I, on the other hand, love to kick trouble-makers squarely in the junk.
And since the hair being presented here isn't even the Raon hair, pissyanon, go read Agustin's policy on MTS. I'll even give you a link, since you apparently couldn't be troubled to find one yourself:
http://modthesims.info/member.php?u=759993
In short, shut up. You're making yourself look like an idiot.
WOW. I was fifthanon, the original anon who said Anubis' policy was written a little harshly. I tried to be polite and inoffensive about it. I can't BELIEVE how nasty some people got.
I'm really, really sorry if I got this started. Throwing insults and accusations is never the way to get your point across, douchebaganon.
Don't worry, "fifth anon", you were kind and nice, and that's the way you have to talk to people if you don't like something. See how I understood that the policy sound a little harsh because you were nice? If X person talks in a rude way to others, X person will never get a good response from others. As simple as that.
Looks really gorgeuos (=
ReplyDeleteGoing to see how this looks in game!
