  1. It looks very nice, I just wish that the original wasn't required.

Some people may prefer it this way but I don't download your retextures because I don't want to have two files for each hair and just increase the amount of packages I have to have installed.

    Great job nonetheless.

  2. Hiya! :D

I know some people don't like this method at all.
To put things in perspective, I prefer this because I can keep intact the original file, while just modify what I want. And for some other reasons too.

Overriding resources is used a lot in games, I was surprised it wasn't so much in The Sims 3.

But if you separate it in folders, it is even easier for you to place and separate the hairs.
About the amount, in TS3, it does not causes much impact on how many packages you have, depending on the size of course.

I am thinking on creating a tool to organize the Mods folder, so you can have a clearer view of all your content.

  3. This peggy hair conflicts with a totally different peggy hair, so i had to delete the other to be able to try this one according to the sim3 dashboard. Looks really worth trying though, thanks for sharing! :)

I'm a little unclear what you mean by this statement. The size of the package files matters less than the number of package files in your directory. This is why combining them into one large package file will lessen lag and load time.

So no, having multiple package files for one hair WILL increase load time, unless you use S3PE to merge them.

I'd trust the Dashboard for finding bad custom content EXCEPT it is notoriously inaccurate when it comes to "conflicts." Just ignore that.

I really hope Delphy updates CTU for Late Night, too.

Also, aWT, I'll be looking forward to your slider hack for Late Night! I love the Rez Delnava compatible one that you did that removes the limit on sliders and also increases the range.

  6. If I install the original file and this retexture, will both retextures show up in CAS or just this one? :o

  7. ^ it shouldn't, all peggy retextures replace the original anyway.

I'm not sure if I like this hair shorter or not, you do lovely alpha edits though (and your models are very hAWT XDXD the brunette in particular)

A different hair? Can you put the filename so I can take a look at it?
Strange since the intances conflict are rare in different creations as they are hashes of the filename.

I will do it as soon as I get the expansion.
But I have to consider it may take a while, in case EA changed the UI in some aspects, as we have now more sliders.
    But let's see.

"So no, having multiple package files for one hair WILL increase load time, unless you use S3PE to merge them.

The thing is, a built DBC/"merged package" is a collection of packages/files, thus having their own indexes on the header of the package simplifying the loading process for the engine.
If you read my overview about the Resource.cfg you will see more how the loading process of the resources works.

Once a package is loaded into the cache the engine will replace whatever new resource that directly affects another file. There should be no significant increase of loading time on this by overriding.

But one thing is for certain, once you have lots of packages, it is recommended to merge them, as the engine will have to open and close a new stream at every package, thus why taking more time to load more packages.
