It's really, really cool that they added a new color to the slider, but I think I'll stick with the replacement from BogSims; it has that great vampire-pale AND the perfect dark blue for Nightcrawler. ;)
It's really cool to see new colors, though, so I thank the creator for that.
^No, it works on the blue color. The blue slider now goes from light to dark blue and then from dark to light purple. Green is still there (it just looks, from the screenshots, as if the creator might have a mod installed that makes the green a little more olive, but it's still there).
^ OOOOH, me too! That would be awesome. I'd also really like a grayscale slider.
I hope more people make slider replacements for the natural colors, too, because the defaults aren't always great. More options would be nice, if nothing else.
I'm pretty sure you can. I think it's just like the BogSims skin that Katana mentioned: it replaces the COLOR, not the skin itself. It'll work with whatever skintone you want, just not another mod that edits the blue color.
I did a grayscale once, but it replaced blue. I ended up deleting it, because I didn't use it, and the white end I was working with more didn't look much different from bogsims lightest blue.

ReplyDeleteBut EA blue lets me make Avatar sims. I'm skipping this.

Can anybody explain how this works? I don't really understand XD
ReplyDeleteI mean, does this replace any other color in CAS? (Sorry, double post :P)
ReplyDeleteAnubis, it looks like it removes the green and replaces it with purple. The new blue replaces the old.

ReplyDeleteSpeaking of which...I want that olive green!
Hm, so you can't use this AND another default replacement skin at the same time I guess. I really wanted to make a dark elf Sim...
ReplyDeleteThe split color slider is neat.
ReplyDeleteThat opens the possibility to have all the fantasy colors replacing the three default red, green, and blue swatches for:
red/orange
yellow/green
blue/purple
I'd love to see that!

^Yeah, agreed. I'm 99% sure that this is a color mod, not a skin replacement.
ReplyDeleteThis is how the darkes tone of violet looks with Aikea's skin:

And this is the lighest blue tone:

it seems to fade with the violet...
I like this :P I hope someone redoes the green/pink as well, and does the grayscale that others have mentioned.

ReplyDeleteI was planning on making alien sims so this may be great for me. Thanks for the explanations everyone. I like the olive colors too.
ReplyDelete@ Anons: Thank you for the information! I'll definitely try it out then.
ReplyDeleteCan someone point me in the right direction to learn how to do this myself?
