^Agreed. I mean, I nobody's trying to insult the original creator, but if there are flaws, why not fix it? Aikea's version is much better, IMO, and the free community has always been very open about modifying and converting work.
I mean it's "sad" because it's a shame htat so many things get made that NEED fixing to begin with. It'd be nicer if they didn't need to be fixed and were done properly from the start :p
@first anon, You probably can't tell the difference between all the textures that people use, and are just saying that over and over to make yourself seem smart. It fails.
I'm sorry, but the backside of the hair still looks bad. I really wish creators wouldn't rush publishing their hairs and take time to make sure they look perfect and don't need fixing. It's annoying to have broken hairs and keep downloading it again and again. http://img697.imageshack.us/img697/3962/57576068.jpg
She says in the post that there's issues she couldn't fix? Can't YOU read? Also, if you hate that issue so much, why don't you try and learn to mesh so you can fix it yourself? If you want anything done the way you want it, that's what you're going to have to learn eventually.
Anon asking about the file size, the original file had a metric ass-ton of duplicate parts, including something like 30 textures (where mine has three).
Yeeeeeeeeah, Anubis, I think it very well may be that XMSims hair. :/ I'd only seen the TS3 conversion, and that originally didn't give credit anywhere for the original mesh, then this morning I noticed Ghani had posted a retexture of that exact TS2 hair. (Shame, because I ended up rebuilding the entire package from scratch and had to use the TS3 mesh BettyBoop had included, so the LODs aren't as optimal as I'd like them to be.) Not sure what I should do about this. While I generally can't stand strict TOU, I completely understand wanting to convert your own TS2 items to TS3.
Needs a retexture.
ReplyDeleteMuuuuuuuch better than Betty's. <3
ReplyDeleteI love it. :'D Thanks a bunch, Aikea Guinea.
ReplyDeleteIt's already a retexture. The original was pretty bad and somehow had forever pink ends.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad how many people make hair which quickly gets a version fixed by someone else. <_<; This one is way better, though.
^ How is that sad? I think that it's good thing. Who wants something that's broken?

ReplyDeleteThe original was perfectly nice, just flawed.
Thanks for the fix :)

ReplyDeleteCute! I wish the bangs were a tad bit longer though ^_^
ReplyDelete@ first anon and ^^: Then give it a go and retexture it yourself!
ReplyDeleteAwesome, thanks aikea!
ReplyDeleteVast improvement!
ReplyDeleteGorgeousness! Thanks, Aikea. :)
ReplyDeleteWTF are you talking about? ^
ReplyDelete^^ lolwut.
ReplyDeleteThis looks nice, much better than the original. I'm still kind of on the fence about whether I like the bangs, personally :P

ReplyDelete*snickers* @ Anon that posts without reading Aikea's thread entirely.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for fixing the issues, especially the file size, 2MB is more like it.
This is a fix for some issues of the original mesh. Otherwise, the creator would have to build a brand new mesh. I think it turned out great!
I dont understand how it was 18 & 8 mb in the first place? How do they get to that size?
ReplyDelete^ i think it was because there were some unnecessary stuff in there that was found and all. :\
ReplyDeleteHey! Is this hair an XM Sims'? It looks really similar to this one:

Shady... (BettyBoop, not Aikea)

At any rate, thanks, everyone!
I LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteI have to tie my hands because I want to convert XM Sims hairs sooo baaad! XD
ReplyDeleteBut I have to respect her decision, so...
I love the front.. but not so much the back. Would love to see this kind of style more.
ReplyDeleteI loved XMSims for Sims 2,
ReplyDeletethat was pretty much the only place i went for hair :)
