Because they had them stored on the computer but was too busy during the Christmas period to actually release it? No idea... I see penguins. This interests me. It also says 'new years' in the title, so it isn't just for Christmas.
In Russia, they start celebrating Christmas on December 25, then continue to observe New Year Eve with festive parties, enjoy New Year Day with their families and, finally, celebrate Russian Orthodox Christmas on January 7.
"...and I will add that many of us Americans seem to think the world revolves around us."
Exactly. I say this as an American, too. So many Americans do think the world revolves around us, our cultures, and our customs. They are completely ignorant to other customs and instead of looking up information on them, they spout off their ignorance.
If the commenters expressing their ignorance aren't American, if I were you, I wouldn't admit it. You don't want that reputation.
It's like The Chaser's War on Everything... they went to America, show people a map of the world. Australia had been labelled Iraq. People were asked to point out Iraq. Guess where they pointed lol Luckly the war in Iraq wasn't relying on their navigational skills. XD
I don't get why people are still releasing christmas items when the festive period is over.
