Says on the blog the polycount is high, but could someone get exact numbers for me? Or tell me how to tell what the polycounts actually are so I can stop asking?
^ Actually newsea hairs are the main hairs people are like omg! why is this pay hair or why do I need the original version? I want it. Many people go to psmd for their hairs. And their hairs styles are very cute. So um...yeah. Their hair doesn't suck at all really.
Cute hairs! ^-^ Te textures are similar to NewSea's but somehow better. And about the polycount: Type A: LOD0/LOD1 = 11.274 polys Type B: LOD0/LOD1 = 10.881 polys Both have proper LOD2 and LOD3.
I'll give them a try. I agree they look like Newsea hairs and the quality looks great in the pictures. Also the hairstyles are a little anime-ish but cute.
The models are gorgeous, and the hair is free, but I have the sneaking suspicion that it's going to look way too high on most sims. There's is likely a reason that there's no CAS preview from the front. I will remain skeptical until I get one.
This is posted on the page at the moment: "=Download removed = the texture is way too dark so i will fix it a bit, it should be done by today, :) sorry!"
So it should be up again soon. I like it, hope it looks that good in game!

Oh wow. Burn. Well, if that's the case go back to T$R and tell Newsea to stop sucking.
My internet connection is kind of crappy. It takes a while to even download a megabyte, so it gets a bit frustrating to see a hair that took twenty minutes to download look terrible in my game.
It's not a big deal, but it makes me picky and admittedly demanding of creator previews. That, or hopeful for a kind anon to provide them.

Nice, a creator who actually cares when the hair looks too dark :D I hope he updates soon, these hairs look good.

I totally understand. I've been there. It's hard for some people to understand that some people are still on dial-up and it seems unimaginable going into 2011, but certain places STILL do not offer any high-speed internet (cable or DSL), so the only option is either dial-up, mobile broadband, or satellite internet (where available). So it's either dial-up or paying $60 a month for the latter two. Not everyone has $60 a month to pay for net.
I took my high-speed internet for granted when I lived in larger cities, but unfortunately, I had to move back to a small town and so now in order for me to get high-speed internet, I have to pay $60 a month for mobile broadband. I have the Verizon MiFi, and luckily for me I can use it both on my laptop I got last year and also on my desktop that is 8 years old. With that comes a 5 GB bandwidth limit, too.
So yeah, I just wanted to let you know that I totally understand your pain (I had to deal with dial-up for over 2 years after I moved back to the small town) and I hope things get better for you soon. :)
I'm not sure if it was just me or not, but this hair looked really ugly in-game out of CAS. All of my graphics settings are on the highest possible, so I dunno.
I deleted these from my game because they were showing up on way too many sims for my comfort. Half the bouncers in my town had this hairstyle, so had to go
It's very good! However the polycount is very very high. next time try not to go over 7000 polys you've gone into to the 10ths of thousands just way too high.
which modelling programme did you use? milkshape/blender? or 3D Max/maya
"I deleted these from my game because they were showing up on way too many sims for my comfort. Half the bouncers in my town had this hairstyle, so had to go"
This is why more creators should uncheck the valid for random box. It's easy enough to do on your own with s3pe, though, but still tedious when you have a ton of hairs that you realize are enabled for random and showing up on so many Sims and then you have to go through and uncheck that setting for about 40-50 different hairs.
This may seem like a n00b question, but there's not a very cohesive guide to s3pe I've been able to locate... How does one change categories/random validity in it?
the poly count is really high, especially when you consider that this is enabled for random, and within 2 sim days of having this style in my game atleast 5 sims had it. And unless you actually put this on some uber cute anime sim, it looks off. I mean on normal sims, or just random townies, it looks more like a mullet, than a good hairstyle
i know this is your first hair mesh, so i'll try go easy, as others have said the poly count is ridiculously high, its a great style but you must never try going over 7,000 polys for lod0. i hope you take this into consideration for your next creations.

Yeah, only without the SUCK.

ReplyDelete^ Why don't you just try it out yourself?
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone here know where I can get models like these for Sims 3, besides from XM sims?
ReplyDeleteis anyone else having issues DLing it? It says the file is invalid =(
ReplyDeleteThe link is invalid. I can't download it either. Too bad. I really liked Hair B!

I like the hair of the Sim with the glasses on. It's really cute :)
ReplyDeleteOh yeah. Gotta have all the men looking like middle aged lesbians!
ReplyDeleteNice! Do you think the creator shares his sims somewhere?
ReplyDeleteThanks

ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm wondering if Lapiz read the comments here and kindly thought to correct them, since there weren't any comments like that on the website.
So if you are reading this, Lapiz, great looking work! Hope to see more! :D

Reminds me of Patrick Bateman's hair from American Psycho. :-p

ReplyDeleteVague irritation I feel, as I ponder the mysteries of flatulence.
ReplyDeleteThe hair looks great to me even in-game. I'm not sure how "really ugly" it is for you. Do you have pictures, Anon?
ReplyDeleteI deleted these from my game because they were showing up on way too many sims for my comfort. Half the bouncers in my town had this hairstyle, so had to go
ReplyDeleteWhy so many update of this hair? I've already one in my game.

this has already been updated ages ago.
ReplyDeleteThe hair looks great to me even in-game. I'm not sure how "really ugly" it is for you. Do you have pictures, Anon?
ReplyDeleteNope, sorry. Deleted it from my game. For me it looked like there were a lot of weird transparency errors and large pixels on the bangs.
So the saga continues~
ReplyDelete^ period missing!
ReplyDeleteLove this hair.
ReplyDelete^ Yes, it was updated, and then, it was updated again. The blog was apologizing to everyone who had downloaded it before 12/25.
ReplyDeleteOne difference I noticed when replacing the original is that the file size is smaller than before. It's now half the original file's size.

ReplyDeleteThese are real cool anime hairs for men. But I don´t know if I like the texture. I have to try out in game.
ReplyDeleteI would be happy, if you convert this hairs for women!!!! :-)

ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous, downloaded them yesterday, LOVE THEM!! <3
ReplyDeleteTYP B, 2nd guy: He looks totally like Claude from Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji : D <333
ReplyDelete^^^I'd like to know too.
ReplyDelete@ Mao-chan, I was thinking th exact same thing!
ReplyDeleteWooah the poly count is way high.
