The Sims 3 Generations?

This was posted at The Sims 3 Forums by innuendo19 about the next EP, The Sims 3 Generations.  I haven't read through all the pages but you can see in the second picture there's new activities like hanging out in tree houses, pranks and suffering midlife crises.

Here's the System Requirements page

Thanks, Anon:)

  1. Pranks, midlife crisis? I was expecting a similar EP to Seasons... -.-

  2. So exciting! Mid-life crises!?! Tree houses?!? Sweet! Thanks for the update!

  3. What a great new ! :D

    ReplyDelete
  4. I like the possibilities this EP can bring to the game, I'd like to have more interactions, professions and personality stuff added.

    ReplyDelete
  5. The pranks will probably get old after a while. Need more info!

    ReplyDelete
  6. It might be with weather, you'll never know. It sounds good!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I'm with Lotus. I want more traits and jobs/careers.

    ReplyDelete
  8. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!! OMG!!! I WANT IT NOW! I hope it's more than just new interactions though, or else it'll end up being repetitive after a while like Ambitions.

Would love to see the pics :(

  10. "Oooops ... You do not have sufficient privileges to access this message." means that you're not registered in the english/US part of the forum.. You've to go to the homepage, change the langage to english, and then try to connect again on the page. It will work

I can't see what is really exciting in midlife crisis, but I need much more details to have an idea of this 4th EP. I wish EA will not let us wait too much time and will give us informations soon..

  12. If you view source on http://www.thesims3.com, you can find a text string under the Red Carpet that mentions this supposed EP and read it yourself. I'm not certain whether or not there's anything to it but it's interesting.

  13. what i want i will never get. i want ea to give us better genetics and make it so that when townies are spawned, they always are original and unique by a random and varied genetic mix, so no two are alike. :[

    ReplyDelete
  14. Shouldn't the credit go to doodlesam?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hope there's some new information out soon. Celeb worship totally ruined LN for me, and that was the only EP I wanted. Wish they'd give us weather, everyone wants it.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I really hope this includes weather or pets. But thats just something I think should have been in the base game to begin with.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I don't think EA even bothers listening to what their players want. It would be so cool to have rain and snow and PETS! Seriously my Sim is wanting some animals to play with, possibly in the rain..... ;) Instead they give us this disappointment.

This EP is going to be lame. Maybe they should just give up Sims 3 and move on to Sims 4

    ReplyDelete
  18. This EP has potential, but I was personally hoping the next would be more weather based. Who knows, Generations could include weather, or Generations may not even be the next one.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @Caliena
EA has been listening. The community has been asking for more family-like stuff for since the base game was released. And since so many players want a Seasons/Pets EP, they're probably just holding off until later. Just chill.

    ReplyDelete
  20. @Code: Yea, but I've seen a lot more people asking for seasons and pets than family things. You would think that they would release the higher demand EPs first instead of the "Eh some people want this most people don't" EPs

    ReplyDelete
  21. @Caliena
I think it's more of an equal amount of people complaining on both sides. And it might be just to build excitement, so when they just say the word, they have people blindly running to the nearest Gamestop/Walmart to get it.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'm hoping this might be the weather expansion. It would make sense to connect the growing up/changing with seasons and weather. (Awwww, EA's getting deep-and-shit.) I guess that means we're getting some lame-ass PlantSim. I'd rather some kind of elf or fairy...a dwarf perhaps?

As much as I hated ALL two Pets expansions, I'd really like to have an updated Sim-werewolf. I SO want werepuppies.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I believe they would release something people really want when they sales go down, as a way to bring the fandom back. Don't really think they care about we want, of course thay try to include wanted stuff, but most likely they care more about what will keep their numbers raising. That's why they might be postponing the release of weather/pets releated EP.

    ReplyDelete
  24. omg do you see all the pedos on mts wanting to bathe their toddlers?!! lol

    ReplyDelete
  25. I want time to enjoy a weather EP before, all of a sudden, Sims 4 is announced.

    ReplyDelete
  26. it's a little weird to want it soooo badly

    ReplyDelete
  27. "Anonymous said...
I want time to enjoy a weather EP before, all of a sudden, Sims 4 is announced."

    LOL!
Even if they did, I am done deal with any more Sims sequels. I love Sims 3, but it was a tedious, roller coaster, goatfuck to get to that point.

    ReplyDelete
  28. anything but weather is ok by me. i don't get why so many people want that addition

    ReplyDelete
  29. There's still a chance it is a season expansion.

And also a chance that it is a hobbies expansion.

There's no way they'd release an expansion focusing only on age-based interactions. Don't worry, guys.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Sounds fun, I hope they bring back the joy buzzer and ventrilo-fart pranks, I was expecting Pets next, so this is a surprise.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I wonder what kind of neighborhood this might come with. I only have Sunset Valley so I'm dying to find out.

Weather could be really fun. Imagine a thunderstorm with dark skies. Big clouds, lightning. Total change of atmosphere.

    ReplyDelete
  32. <3 you, Shivar!

Hopefully the new world will be interesting. No flat world, please! I'd love mountains, but gotta have a strip of beach in there somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  33. This EP actually seems kinda interesting...and I could see them putting weather in this one. I only hope we get pets soon! <3

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hmmm...Idk yet. There's not enough info. to get me interested in this. Yet.

    ReplyDelete
  35. wtf? Are You serious? An EP built around ages? c'mon EA. Pets or Seasons! Listen to the people!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Well, I don't see why so many people want pets. They're cute but so annoying in the game. Unless the EP came with like fictional animals, talking animals, etc. Small, colorful midget-sized dragons. The kind you just pull out of your wild, crazy imagination.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'm with you Limo. I will have to wait and hear a bit more about it before I start jumping up and down. :) I didn't know they had already announced the Sims 4! They haven't fixed Sims 3 yet!

    ReplyDelete
  38. lol my late night made the alvi family celebrities. they're poor and kinda troubled, so i guess they were famous for something bad. dumb game
    /off topic

    ReplyDelete
  39. Can't you currently "buy" a mid-life crisis with lifetime reward points?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Pets was the highest selling expansion pack for the best selling PC game of all time. No business would be foolish enough to abandon something like that. Instead, they're going to milk it for all they can and keep bringing out other expansion packs that we'll buy while waiting for Pets (and Seasons). Hopefully we won't have to wait more than 2 years though, or customers will start to get bored of the game!

    ReplyDelete
  41. If they decide to release a Pets expansion, they are really going to have to change it from from sims2 pets. I got bored really fast with the interface of the cats/dogs. They need something big if its going to be any different.

    ReplyDelete
  42. KatsuLover

I knew I smelled something horrible in this thread. What has the world come to?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Sounds alright but nowhere near as interesting as a Seasons expansion with proper greenhouses and better gardening would have been.

    ReplyDelete
  44. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Dammit EA, bring us pets and seasons - not family fun... We should have been able to do all that in the base game. :c

Better have stuff for babies too. I miss bathing them.

Still.. wish it was pets or seasons...

    ReplyDelete
  45. "Can't you currently "buy" a mid-life crisis with lifetime reward points?"

That's just changing a few minor details about the sim. I imagine that this would involve the sim randomly quiting their job, buying an expensive car, cheating on their wife with the local floozy (or Agnes Crumplebottom, whoever works) or something similar.

    ReplyDelete
  46. You people who want pets should go play an animal game or something.

    ReplyDelete
  47. lmao "oooh, if only i could wash the babies..what great fun and joy i'd have..i miss so much cleaning their crap off.." weirdos

    ReplyDelete
  48. It's not The Animals or The Pets. It's not The Cars, either, but people have learned that already.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Then don't read it.

    HOLY SNAP.

Wtf are you doing here then XD

    ReplyDelete
  50. ^why are you so angry?

    ReplyDelete
  51. If you're tired of reading about it, then it gives me joy to continue talking about it. Don't read the comments if you can't handle them.

    ReplyDelete
  52. ^meant for the anon to comments ahead

    ReplyDelete
  53. I was getting bored of interactions so this is well-timed for me.

Who knows, maybe they'll introduce stuff like the gerbil cage. It's not pets but...it is an animal and it'd be pretty easy to put in.

We don't know much about it yet.

    ReplyDelete
  54. pets crappin' all over town, destroying my furniture? no thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  55. you forgot lovin youuuu
    which is easy cause
theyre animalsssss and just want food

    do do do dodo

    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH~

    did you like my song?
    i took like
    4 hours to write it

    it was SO HARD.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Btw: the people who keep saying dont read the comments about people wanting pets or weather are the people who keep requesting them. And its not possible to stop reading their stupid requests because they are everywhere!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'll bet this pack won't have seasons since I heard they're trying to improve it from the Sims 2, when some people complained about a glitch that made it rain/snow in their houses.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Oh, man. If they do add pets or weather with this EP, people are gonna go crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  59. You know what, I'm ready for my kids to be bad. Everyone wants more things for kids to do. Well, how about little misfits stealing cars and breaking into houses. Come on, the truly diabolical start young.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I hope they have more interactions with the children, specifically tucking them into bed, and god forbid actually being able to push infants/toddlers in a stroller of some sort - the kind of basic things I think needed to have been in the base game. It's not about pedophilia; when you have kids you DO like to tuck them in safe and sound at night. It's what parents do. And it has always irked me that babies are treated like a minor inconvenience in the game when the mother and child are generally house bound til said child grows up. What's the point of basing a game on a virtual life when it veers away from even semi-reality when it comes to parenthood. Sims spend more time on the toilet than they do changing their baby's dirty diaper. It's wrong. How about some basic interactions that invokes some reality of parenthood? PLEASE?

    ReplyDelete
  61. no, the pedos are obsessed with bathing lmao it will complete their gaming experience

    ReplyDelete
  62. You can take babies out, but in the park and such they just get put on the floor.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Sims spend more time on the toilet than they do changing their baby's dirty diaper. It's wrong.

how is that wrong? i bet you spend more time on the pot, getting it all out, nice and slow (so as not to tear) than you do wiping a baby's butt

    ReplyDelete
  64. Kids...why can't they join clubs at school? Gymnastics or football or drama.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I agree with pets, seasons, and more options for kids. But really, who cares if we ask for all of this? Freedom of speech, people! The more we complain, the more likely we are to get the game. It's logic.

Yeah, I'm gonna get some rude comments NOW...

    ReplyDelete
  66. child abuse would be awesome

    ReplyDelete
  67. Well, how about little misfits stealing cars and breaking into houses.

Kids (and adults) with guns, it'd be beautiful! If only we had a jail/prison and could play a sim there, and have others visit. But it'll never happen.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Maybe they'll finally add a silly or playful trait.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Don't be silly (ha), Samu. They'll add something stupid like a Prankster trait.

    ReplyDelete
  70. yesss i second child abuse

    ReplyDelete
  71. I wouldn't mind some more cute parent-toddler interactions. I have a single father Sim, and I have yet to age up his toddler son because they interact so cutely together.

    ReplyDelete
  72. omg toddlers are insanely boring and annoying

    ReplyDelete
  73. "sorry this page is hidden"

    ReplyDelete
  74. I was looking forward to pets and seasons. But I DO like the sound of this Generations EP since I like playing with sims families. I hope babyshowers, strollers, washing the baby, more things to do at weddings, romantic interactions are in this EP...

I hope PETS will be the expansion after this.

    ReplyDelete
  75. People seem to forget that while Pets was their BEST Expansion it was ALSO their MIDDLE Expansion, They are simply taking a different Path (Apartmets we're the LAST thing in the Sims 2, and they appeared in Late night.)

    ReplyDelete
  76. I felt like pets in TS2 were more or less walking furniture.

At least this EP is something different. I hope it's a good one though. Family interactions are lacking. Sims feel like strangers in their own home.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I don't see the appeal in pets. I spent more time taking care of them than my sims and they were far more annoying. I'm happier with seasons and family related stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  78. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  79. In a way, I want EA to please do a weather and pets EP so then we can move on and get something exciting and new. I am happy with more family or age group interactions and hopefully objects.

I may want to play my sim children more.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I hope babyshowers, strollers, washing the baby, more things to do at weddings, romantic interactions are in this EP...

omg, you frilly little girls need to go 1) watch your soap operas 2) read your romance novels 3) have some real babies 4) get a job in a pet store

    ReplyDelete
  81. Children interactions I want include the following:

    Lock them in a cage.
    Beat them senseless.
    Forced labor around the house.
Tie them up and lock them in the closet.
    Feed them slop.
    Send them to boarding school.
    Kidnapping for above purposes.

    ReplyDelete
  82. omg, you frilly little girls

Seriously, don't you girls know by now that they just want to get into your pants?

    ReplyDelete
  83. ^I love you. I really do.

But that's part of a a side game coming out in December

    THE SIMS: The Flaming Fifties.

    ReplyDelete
  84. hahahaahha poor beaten child sim walkin around dizzy and bruised hahahaa

    ReplyDelete
  85. lol child abuse is soooooooooo funny

    ReplyDelete
  86. Anonymous said...
no the pedos are obsessed with bathing lmao it will complete their gaming experience

Interesting. When I read it my first thought was "proper parents". When you read it your first thought was "pedos" What a nifty little Freudian glimpse into the disconcerting dark that is your mind.

    ReplyDelete
  87. but but but i just wanna wipe poop off my sim baby for at least 20 secs, dont give us a 3 sec animation how cheap and heartless..i miss wiping them soooooooo much lmao

    ReplyDelete
  88. Wow another useless Expansion... but i bet the sheeps will buy this too.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I will pirate this Expansion like every expansion before, EA won't see a cent for this ripoff.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Maybe we'll finally get continuous gradual aging. THAT would be amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  91. It's obvious that EA is taking it's sweet time to release pets and seasons to the public, which is fine since the added anticipation makes me want to keep playing the game, hah. But by reading what's included in this EP, it could be an animation modder's haven.

    ReplyDelete
  92. "Wow another useless Expansion... but i bet the sheeps will buy this too."

Since you're commenting on a custom content blog for the Sims 3, that makes you a sheep as well, even if you don't buy the expansions.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Ugh, gay. I want Pets and weather.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I'm disappointed about the EP.. I mean who wants to see mid-life crises in the sims?! This's boring. And I dont care about tree houses too.
    Just useless..

    ReplyDelete
  95. I wish young adults could go to the university.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Weather - not sure they can ever give us that. The 3d programme they use for the plants and trees doesn't seem to allow for weather transitions.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I think they will add pets in this expansion, just because it would seem like Generations=Pet Generations.
So maybe some people will get there wish.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Shit more trannyes..
    Sims 3 theme park
    Sims 3 Zoo
    Sims 3 Farm
    Sims 3 Weather Time
    Sims 3 etc
    noooooo!
    Sims 3 boring oldie trannyes!
    I love EA...lOL

    ReplyDelete
  99. I think the page is fake.
All the other EPs have no system requirements and even if is real, the EP is the same size as the base game. There is no way this EP can be another base game.

    ReplyDelete
  100. ^Why would it be fake? It's on the game's official website

    ReplyDelete
  101. In response to someone claiming they covered the Apartment EP with Late Night. No, they didn't. The Apartments ones are far more costumizable and you can fill every apartment within it with a costum family instead of being restricted to one apartment to move one family into. Also, Sims 2 apartments included realistic solar and wind power farming, spiral stairs, magic/witches, closets, fans, and a once a week building party/mixer. They have not redone the Apartment expansion pack, they redid the Nightlife expansion pack, drew on the fame EP of Sims 1, and through in pent houses from the console game by the same type of themes (which is also where they got customizing shoes seperate, and having to make your sim do their job). It had no actual drawing off of Sims 2 Apartments at all. Sims 2 Apartments has not been redone for The Sims 3 yet.

They are not precisely copying the original Sims, Sims 2, or the Sims console games. They are recombining things. You cannot expect them to hand you a replica of a past game, because they have never done that in the history of The Sims games. (Simcity, yes. The Sims, no.)

I agree with a previous commentor, we direly need Elves/Fairies. Those were base game in The Sims 2 by picking a pre-made face that had pointed ears, then you could redo the face but it kept the pointy ears. Pointy ears on its own was better than the special monster type sims because you could say it was any type of Elf/Fairy/Demon/Yokai/Etc. because most such creatures have pointy ears. If they don't put it in as a basic sim trait, they should put in an Elf sim that can breed with regular Human Sims. And, the other basic special sim we're missing is the alien offspring from abductees. We have mummies, vampires, ghosts, and robots... They are all dead!

    ReplyDelete
  102. Oh, added note about all the special sims they've given us thusfar being dead... Obviously, someone in charge of planning for The Sims 3 must be a necrophiliac for why they have done all of the dead creatures first and have yet to touch the living ones.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Oh, added note about all the special sims they've given us thusfar being dead... Obviously, someone in charge of planning for The Sims 3 must be a necrophiliac for why they have done all of the dead creatures first and have yet to touch the living ones.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Okay, in the Google search form picture says the original entry was "suffer", and crisis is spelled wrong. -_-

    ReplyDelete
  105. I feel that we cant even say this is the next EP because it is bullsh&t that it is on their site because it isnt I just looked...

How about we wait until EA announces it theirselves so that we can all relax and enjoy what we have now....

    ReplyDelete
  106. I'm brazilian and I just want say that here in Brazil we dont have news of T.S.3 generations... But i guess which this new pack will be the best pack ever made in The Sims History

    ReplyDelete
  107. Since Will Wright left, The Sims is always going to be a disapointment.
That guy was the genius behind it.
All the expansions of The Sims 2 modified the entire gameplay, The Sims 3 expansions just improve some parts of the game.
    University - Character improvement
    Nightlife - World improvement
Open for Business - Mechanics and gameplay improvement
Pets - Character, gameplay and world improvement
Seasons - World and gameplay improvement
    Bon Voyage - World improvement
    Freetime - Gameplay improvement
Apartament Life - Overall game improvement (filling the holes)

World Adventures - What is the point of having an adventure mode for a simulation game and that is not even used through normal gameplay
Ambitions - Just few new mechanics added and the old jobs look very boring compared to the new ones
Late Night - EVERYONE IS A CELEBRITY EVEN IF I DONT WANT TO!!!

Generation will also be a failure for sure!
Will Wright please come back for us!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  108. First of all Generations has yet to be described by EA in detail. Yes, it looks like they're working on it since ESRB has "leaked" it but there are no more info on this EP.

Secondly to the poster above me - Will Wright didn't do anything with Sims 2. He designed The Sims, someone else did The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. Bringing him back won't change the game if EA doesn't let him be a part of the design team. He designed the original - that's all he's responsible for. Others have taken over and he's not even put his 2 cents in on those other sequels to his original. He's moved on and cut ties with EA/Maxis. And BTW, it's not even EA/Maxis anymore it's all EA.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I support all. That's what true, non-complaining sims fans do. I do miss Will Wright though... but still I support it all!

    ReplyDelete
  110. Will Wright was the Executive producer of Sims 2.
That means Will Wright is the boss behind Sims 2.

    Will Wright = WIN!
    Ben Bell = Epic Fail!

    ReplyDelete
  111. I would be excited if sims can play in water (at the beach, lake, or waterfall) in this expansion. This EP better be interesting!!!

    ReplyDelete
  112. I want sims height slider in CAS.
I want sims can go to universities in real time plus genius sims can enter it at early age.
I want the weather, i missed it so much.
I want sims can buy 2 or more houses.
I want sims can do water activities.

    ReplyDelete
