Would be careful with those blinds. Don't know if he fixed them yet, but the ones I got from his MTS download blue-lotted my Sunset Valley.
ReplyDeleteHappy I had a copy of it.
^Oh, thanks for telling us. I was about to download them.
ReplyDeleteI've had these blinds in my game for months, and have never encountered the blue lot issue, ever.
ReplyDeleteI used these blinds in a different worlds and never had any issues.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try them in a brand new world and see if it borks it.
ReplyDeleteI would do that if I was you. After reporting the blue lot issue, he told me I didn't know how to install and had a problem on my end.
ReplyDeleteAnother simmer wrote about the blue lot issue, then he conceded there was a problem.
I don't download his stuff anymore, so I don't know if they were fixed or not. I have a problem with pompous people.
Ok, I tried it just now, and I didn't have the blue lot problem. I don't know if it was fixed or not, but my game is fine. So it's safe to download.
ReplyDeleteAre those sunflowers SUPPOSED to look extremely fake? They look just like the plastic ones I made in grade school.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, the creator sounds like an ignorant jackass. Pass.
Anyone else think the staunch denier here IS TNW? That sounds exactly like him.
ReplyDeletewhy would anyone want to hack a sims 3 site?
ReplyDelete^TSR would (and has).
ReplyDelete"Are those sunflowers SUPPOSED to look extremely fake? They look just like the plastic ones I made in grade school."
ReplyDeleteYou made plastic flowers in grade school!?!?!?!?!
I only got to make crappy paper ones...
Dispite the huge amount of scandel surrounding the creator, I like a few of the things here. Especially the file cabinent. I need one for recreating an old family house.
Can someone please tell me if these blinds are safe?? Preferrably someone who is not anon (no offense to anons, but well you never know who they actually are) and preferrably someone who comments fairly regularly. I want to put them in my game, but I really don't want to lose my town.
ReplyDeleteAlso when does blue lot occur anyway since I have never experienced it. Does it happen immediately when you put item in? or is it something you only know after you save and come back?
Why would TSR hack a site that belongs to a TSR select artist?
ReplyDeleteSometimes this conspiracy theory crap just doesn't make any sense, and to answer your question, Liz, I have used the blinds in my game for a long, long time and have never encountered a single problem, let alone blue lots.
OOO that couch is to die for, I must have it in my game.
ReplyDeleteJust tested the blinds some are worried about, and I haven't had a problem. If you really, really, really want them, then clean out your cache before checking them out, yo.
ReplyDeleteB, I'm sorry if I offended you in some way, it wasn't my intention, I was trying to be helpful, you see when I first uploaded those blinds, The Sims 3 had first came out and some people did not know how to install content. I just didn't understand why they were working fine in my game, and yet others had problems with them. :)
ReplyDeleteAs for the blinds, I had to resort downloading them at T$R due to a new install of W7. Do those blue lot? or only the originals?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Also, I wouldn't put it past T$R since the items TNW has uploaded to T$R and his website. They don't like their precious (although free) on other websites.
For the last time: the blinds currently work fine. I'm using them in game right now, and have saved without blue lots.
ReplyDeleteOk if I remember correctly, I think the blue lot issue was caused by any packages created before s3oc and tsrw were updated for World Adventures. What I did after they updated those programs for World Adventures was to get a tester who had World Adventures (since I didn't) to first test the blinds made before they updated those programs in a new world to see if they caused blue lots, which they did for her, but not for me since I didn't have WA. So I remade them in the updated version of tsrw, and got her to test, and they worked fine for her. I deleted the old file from mts and replaced it with the updated file, and the version on tsr is the version that I uploaded to theninthwavesims.com.
ReplyDeletebtw, the version on tsr was uploaded long after I uploaded it to mts.
ReplyDeleteI remember them being uploaded to MTS. Those where my favorite blinds, universal with every window.
ReplyDeleteAbout a couple months ago I tried to look for them and found nothing (on MTS and your website). Later on by accident I found them on TSR. Was so happy.
Now to remember where I found wood fitted blinds ^^
I think it's really stupid to believe that TSR hacked TheNinthWave's site, sorry.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the explanation about the blue lot thing. I can now enjoy these wonderful blinds in game free of worry! ty!!!
ReplyDeleteI think it's really stupid to believe that TSR hacked TheNinthWave's site, sorry.
ReplyDelete^
^
It's pretty stupid to believe they wouldn't.
Even if the downloads have the blue lot issue, there is a way you could possibly fix it yourself. The dashboard tool by Delphy on MTS.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, if there are people who haven't heard of it so far... I will be shocked.
