The Sims 3 Generations Concept Art, In Game Objects and 75 Questions Answered

These pictures were posted by SimGuru Shannon at Facebook.  There's a few more so check them out.

75 Generations Questions Answered

Will it be more in the real life when your sims get married? Like in a church, or under “bow” that we had in TS2?

In The Sims 3 Generations, players can throw huge wedding celebrations using the brand new Wedding Arches. After the wedding, Sims might receive wedding gifts in the mail, and can even write thank you notes!

Can we see inside the tree-house or it’s an rabbit-hole?

You cannot see inside of the tree houses, however they’re much different than career buildings. Each of the three different tree houses has unique interactions specific to its theme. Explore new planets in the Sci-Fi tree house or hold a great feat in the castle tree house!

Will there be more maternity wear and options to pick and choose? What about clothes for elders?

The Sims 3 Generations comes complete with a bunch of new clothing for both pregnant Sims and elders! Not to mention a cane for elder Sims as well…

There will be pillow fights, ghost stories, and sleeping bags in sleepovers. What else can we expect to see to do at an epic sleepover? Will we be able to attend sleepovers at someone else’s house?

Only your Sims can plan slumber parties. While there, pranks can be pulled, home movies can be made, and BUNKBEDS can be used! There’s tons of stuff to do at sleepovers.

  2. What exactly is the purpose of concept art for fans? us.
And basically we're seeing and re-reading the same info over and over. This will hold us until may 31 or june 3!!!

  3. We can give sims time outs, revoke tv privileges, and run a day care at home!

  4. So the threehouse is a rabbit hole, no matter how they try to word it differently... :/

    ReplyDelete
  5. ^^ Yea it is. I love also how they answer the "is their weather" question. Why can't they just give us a simple no ?

    ReplyDelete
  6. No but blah blah blah

    Only blah blah blah

    You can't blah blah blah

What fun will I be able to have with this expansion?

  7. I am disappointed with the dating feature.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I'm so glad that the body hair feature is for the entire body. Finally I can add leg hair and arm hair to my male sims!

  9. The EA representative really loves those exclamation points.

  10. They make the rugs thick and lush in the concept art and then make them paper thin in the actual game -_-

  11. "38) With all the new outdoor activities; weddings, clubhouses, strollers, sandboxes, graduations, etc, are any of these going to be ruined by a sudden rain cloud? It was rumored that weather was going to be added in Late Night, so it must be ready to just add in with this new Generations Expansion. Are we getting any weather?

The Sims 3 Generations focuses on the Sims themselves; who they are and how they interact with each other at different ages. For example, we really wanted the child age of Sims to be about imagination and make believe; the things that are going on inside their mind, and not necessarily the outside world. Each life phase is defined by how Sims are feeling internally and that’s what we wanted to focus on."

I'm sorry... I think they asked about WEATHER not fucking BLAH BLAH BLAH.

    ReplyDelete
  12. They could have only said "No, there won't be weather in this Expansion Pack." instead of saying all those things we already know.

    ReplyDelete
  13. its like they are training to be hostage negotiators = cannot use the word 'no' to answer questions

  14. the imaginary friend is so creepy.. why does it woohoo strut everywhere?

    ReplyDelete
  15. BORING AS FUCK.

  16. There's one thing that doesn't make sense to me. When the imaginary friend is making the bed, will the other sims see the bed sheets magically move and get freaked out? I thought an imaginary friend was supposed to be well...imaginary?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm really not that interested. I mean, it just sounds boring. I like some of the furniture, but I'm not going to spend $40 just for that.

i was wondering the exact same thing. watch them yell at each other for making the bed.

"No I didnt make the bed i thought you did!"

  19. ^I think the imaginary friend is supposed to be like D.W.'s Nadine (From Arthur. The 90's version, not the horrible modern version that doesn't do anything for my childhood nostalgia). An imaginary friend as far as everyone is concerned, but totally capable of affecting the real world without explaination.

  23. This feels like a $40 stuff pack. With additional crap I don't care about. :/ .. 2 traits.. no new skills (unless the chemistry set counts) ..

They should have at least made ballet a skill. :/

    ReplyDelete
  24. This is essentially a glorified stuff pack with some new interactions tacked on. WHAT THE HELL EA. -.-

    ReplyDelete
  25. ^Expansion pack=new gameplay

    Stuff pack=new clothes/furniture/hair.

So, how is this a stuff pack?

Are you really so sore in the ass that this doesn't come with a new world, a new skill (which it's already been confirmed it DOES come with), and such? I'll take everything this comes with as opposed to a bunch of skills my sims will probably never get around to using, some big gameplay I'll rarely ever use (world adventures), and other crap. This is improving the game substantially. That makes it an expansion pack.

    ReplyDelete
  26. The Anon was being sarcastic when saying it's a glorified stuff pack. Which it is.

  27. This questionnaire left a bad taste in my mouth... I'm still looking forward to the EP, since it'll add a good bit of interesting things I don't have in my game, but ehh. :\

    ReplyDelete
  28. I will have so much fun playing this EP!

Love the cushions. Wonder if I can use OMSPs to place them on the bed? They probably not usable on tables.

    ReplyDelete
  29. The imaginary friend could be like the rabbit in Donnie Darko. Just hope it doesn't kill the parents.

    ReplyDelete
  30. B, that was a stupid question. Practically all clutter like those pillows can be placed on tables therefore it will most likely work with OMSPs. Most OMSPs (like Granthes) are set so that almost all objects (with the exception of large appliances) can be placed on them.

    ReplyDelete
  31. If people didn't ask "stupid" questions we wouldn't know what we have today now do we? Either way it's a question that's not stupid.

No need to be an asshole about it. Tired of the bullies on this site.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Okay, I am not using all the different OMSPs. I only used Mangosims, and they require for items to be table slotted.

Sorry for being so stupid. :)

  33. Question: Will there be seasons, new jobs, new skills, new foods, new new interactions, new creatures, new..., new...., new... and so on?
Answer: No, but there will be a bunch of crap and we can guarantee computer lag as well.

  35. The imaginary friend got swag >.>

    ReplyDelete
  36. It must take an hour in-game for that imaginary friend to walk around the rooms of a house, let alone actually do anything. o_O No thanks.

Those EA people dodge answering questions like a politician. "Will there be weather?" "This game will be an all-around Sim experience! Your Sims will be able to have WATER SLIDES!" "Thanks but that doesn't answer my--" "No further questions!"

    ReplyDelete
  37. I like some of the features, but that imaginary friend, for one thing is creepy - what child has an imaginary friend as creepy as that? And also the way it walks is really annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Someone kill that imaginary friend before it kills that poor, unsuspecting family!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm having Chucky flashbacks all over again.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Does the imaginary friend age up with your Sim? Like, are there teen imaginary friends? What about young adult imaginary friends?

    ReplyDelete
  41. ^ Oh dear I sure hope it ages up with your sim since as teens they can be romantically involved with their imaginary friend...which seeing what the imaginary friend looks like is a whole new level of creepy

    ReplyDelete
  42. When I was a kid, if I said I was bored with something, my Mom would say, "well, you must be boring, then." That is: it's up to me to have the fun.

The Sims is a game and toy. It's not a movie. It's exactly as much fun as YOU make it. It's not up to EA to entertain you; it's up to you to entertain yourself. This game has tons of new stuff which will help with that. Does it have everything I want? No, of course not. Nothing has everything. But geez, people, quit griping. If you don't like it, don't get it. Go play a different game.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Damn right, Jessica. Well said.

    ReplyDelete
  44. But if loads of people who a avid sims players dislike something, surely Jessica they should be able to put their dislikes of that feature across, as it is the players that ea needs to listen to in order to improve the game in future. i.e. in sims 4 if they decide to include an imaginary friend, they could try to make it more child friendly, maybe more cute and innocent as childhood should be.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and stating their likes and dislikes for a game, particularly when it is a game they like so much. No one should have to give up a game because they don't like some of the features and are not allowed according to certain people like yourself to voice their own opinions.

  45. This expansion seems like its going to be extremely disappointing. Ill buy it tho, but i feel like this is a waste of money.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I thought WA was extremely disappointing, I've only ever sent my sims once on a vacation and I was not impressed, if it weren't for nectar making and the handful of new recipes WA would have been a complete bust for me, because of my style of play, it really didn't add much for me.
I was super excited about LN but as it turns out that too did not add much for my style of play.
Generations on the other hand looks like it will be potentialy my favorite ep. Generations is definitely an ep for the legacy-style sims player. So I can understand that if that is not how you play the game why you would think this ep sucks. But there are loads upon loads of legacy sims players out there who are super excited about this ep

  47. I was reading through the questions, and basically every answer started with "there are no new ______". That is a fucking joke.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Also, "feet hair!" ?? INBRED. I hope she meant "leg hair".

Let's just leave the inbreeding to trailer park inhabitants, shall we?

Anyway, apparently this pack is, I guess, what Freetime was to The Sims 2, without the new world/town. Imma sit this one out and say ROLL ON UNLEASHED.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Alan_Gast, how old are you? You've never seen a man with hair on his feet? It's not a sign of inbreeding, it's just a natural hair growth pattern that many very hairy men have. Leg hair doesn't always stop at the ankle.

    ReplyDelete
  50. ^ I'm fifteen. I thought the interviewee meant the SOLES of the feet. For example, hairy palms are a pretty unnatural place to grow hair, as are the soles of the feet so hair growth in that place would probably be the result of inbreeding. Lol I was in a shit mood when I posted those comments. Sorry. (:S

Amen to that. I never play kids because they never do anything. All work and no play and mostly bore and annoy the hell out of me. This EP changes everything and adds a whole new dimension to game play that is long overdue imho. As for EA being evasive in some of the questions; it has occurred to me that they might be witholding some of the details to surprise us. Maybe?

Bottom line; No company selling any product can please all people all of the time, but in this particular case it seems to me EA has listened to their customer base and done the best they could.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I still can't wait for this one. I too am a legacy player. So this is just what I need :)

    ReplyDelete
  53. Anon: You're right, but every time an EP comes out I see a bunch of people shout BORING! without, it appears, even taking the time to imagine what they could do with it. It seems like people don't want to bother to actually *think* when they play--they just want every single possibility spoon-fed to them. And then get mad when it isn't.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Jessica, you are absolutely right.

  55. Does anyone know the song?

  59. OMG! common

this is about generations and not weather!

Weather doesnt have anything in common with generations so why should it be in this EP. Im sure that some day there will be an EP with weather.

    Im shall have this game.

  60. this seems cool i cant wait to have it.
i would like to see Unleshed/ seasons
with sports stuff in it like hockey basket ball ect. the sims can play street hockey or knee hockey play hourse or shoot hoops with a freind.
have all new sports clothes for all genders. even disabiliies like leg braces wheel cairs crutches. sims can have broken arms or legs tht would be so cool

  61. I like the new interactive levels in the sims generations. At first you think when playing it that there was not much new put into the game, as far as objects go..however after playing it a time you start to find new interactive things that are really great. I also like the video camera where you can film life events. You can store them in the storage device and play them on the television. It will make your sim happy to remember the past events in their life.
