The Sims 3 Showtime New Details And Screenshots

Amaze the Audience with Your Talents as a Magician or Singer in The Sims 3 Showtime

Become the star of the show in The Sims 3 Showtime. Perform tricks and sing your way to fame in Starlight Shores, an all-new world that showcases your Sims’ hidden talents as they go from small town heroes to larger than life performers.

As a magician, your Sim begins their career on the streets performing magic tricks for tips. They’ll visit new venues and meet with the owners to book larger gigs and gain experience. Magicians have unique social interactions that give them the ability to perform small-scale tricks on other Sims such as pulling a coin from an ear and making butterflies and doves magically appear. As magicians level up, they acquire new objects that can be used on-stage. For some magical fun, your Sims can use the Box of Mystery to perform the “swords of destiny” by carefully placing knives through the box without stabbing the Sim inside. Beware the Box of Danger! If a Sim fails at correctly executing their tricks with this object, death may come calling.

  2. This EP looks terrible.

  3. I still stand by my previous assumption that this EP will be awful, but I may be turned if this Starlight Shores is a proper city like Bridgeport, only nicer this time. Otherwise, I'll stick to Los Aniegos :)

  4. I hate it. EA can do so much better than this lameness--come on! Where's our Makin Magic EP already!? :(

  6. I still can't believe they've moved on from charging us $40 for stuff that should've been in the base game, to charging us $40 for stuff that should've been in the previous expansion packs. What the hell, EA?

  7. I'm normally more optimistic about expansion packs. This one does not interest me.

  8. I'm not that excited about this EP either, it just seems like a set up for more glitches....

  9. I bet singers can't even be part of bands. I'm not feeling this EP at all, I'm seriously thinking if it's even worth arr'ing it.

  10. I really wanted super star to be remade back in sims 2 and I feel like we are getting it in a way but I don't like it at all, it just seems so half ass to me like EA has really lost it's "touch" with EP's they just don't excite me anymore sad to think sims 4 will be here soon in a year or so and if the way they are treating sims 3 is any sign of what is to come with sims 4 then that is just a dam shame....

  11. Notice in this article there is NO mention of the "networking" facebook-type features that were so prominently in-your-face the last time news came out about this EP.

Call it wishful thinking, but I think EA may actually be listening for once, because it seems like they're either pretending those horrid out-of-game features aren't there any more, or they actually removed some of that crap. I truly hope they did trim the fat, and hopefully then make room for much more useful features that actually HELP the game. We'll see... being optimistic when EA's involved is usually a mistake in my experience. If that turns out being the case ***again***, consider me officially done with this series.

  12. I'm usually excited for all things Sims, even if it's a lame SP. But meh. We all know this is something that should have been included previously, and EA is just taking us for a ride now.

  13. ^ I agree with everything you said. What's here (not counting the embarrassingly-bad networking bs) honestly doesn't look that bad to me. Of course it should've all been in Late Night, but it still looks somewhat interesting to me.

Of course they'll have to include a hell of a lot more features like weather and/or more interactive jobs (replacing all the boring 'rabbit holes') if they want me spending any money on it though, because just throwing in a few entertainment jobs and nothing else is hideously, grotesquely bare-bones.

  14. ^^ (meant for the "Notice in this article there is NO mention" anon). :P

  15. Due to EA's sh*t track record, I can only assume these entertainer jobs is about all this EP as to offer, or else they should be telling us what more there is to it.

So yeah, expect this to be the worst EP yet... by far. And that's not even including the whole awkward out-of-game social networking mess.

    Count me out.

  16. Yeah, isn't more entertainment-related jobs the LAST thing TS3 needs right now? WTF are they doing??

  17. We now have even more proof that EA are holding back on items until the next EP/SP/Store Set.
Anyone remember the microphone and the singing sim that was in the Late Night EP and didn't come with it? Well here it is, 3 EP's and 3 SP's later. -.-

I'm going to pass on this EP however, I don't think I'd use much except for the microphone.

  18. If you think the stupid social features were removed, read this article: http://worthplaying.com/article/2012/1/4/news/84614/
It's still all about the social features.
And the chances that singers could join bands is minimal imo because the scripting for bands is all done in LN.

  19. Bah. I'm really not intrested whit this EP.

  20. Meh. It seems most of the emphasis is on the social features, and I will not be playing with them on, so I will most likely get zero benefit from this pack. However, I'm waiting for some screenshots of Starlight Shores as a last ditch attempt to sell me.

  21. I love Sims and Sims only. My friends tell me that I am a casual gamer! But, no I have every EP and SP from Sims 1 till Sims 3 Pets. So I would say I am a hardcore Sims fan. I've been playing this game for 7 years now. NOW EVERY EP AND THE PATCHES ARE BECOMING A NIGHTMARE. THERE IS NO FUN ANYMORE WITH THEIR BETA RELEASES!!! I am quitting now, because of all these glitches, I SIMPLY CANNOT KEEP UP(1). They do not care about the "community" social networking and the advertisements might give them more money, I guess. With PETS EP, all the custom contents broke. I wonder what the Sim Gurus were doing! I couldn't get them to reply my mails or pick my calls!! The customer care people have NO CARE for their Customers. Okay, I had a lot of fun, but its time to move on. I uninstalled the game from my computer. My Dog would love a walk!! Thank you!!

  22. Am I the only one who's okay with this?

Maybe it's because I don't actually play the game. I'm just looking at this from a "Yay now I'll have an easier time portraying characters involved in the entertainment industry in my story" perspective.

Either way, it's no biggie. Maybe you will like the next EP more? I'm personally waiting for something like TS2 University or Seasons.
