  1. Yeah, it looks cool and all, EA, but I certainly don't think it's worth $25. I mean, even with Hidden Springs and/or Barnacle Bay, I was like, wow, this doesn't seem like it should be $25.

Oh, right. Silly me. EA's always been like this.

    ReplyDelete
  2. ^did you ever heard from MATY, SunsetSims or the Pirate Bay?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Meh, it'a not worth $25. There's better ones on the Exchange for free.

  4. "^did you ever heard from MATY, SunsetSims or the Pirate Bay?"

Not that anon, but how does that take away from what s/he said, that this world isn't worth almost $25? SOMEONE has to pay money in order for it to be pirated. EA should be ashamed of themselves.

I don't even think it's worth the discounted price of $22. There are tons of player-made worlds that are of better quality. This world only appears to include one new gameplay object, and I wouldn't be surprised if it conflicted with any of EA's own objects (just like Hidden Springs' Fountain of Youth did).

  5. Sorry but ( my personal opinion) its a bit too "Sci fi" for me and abit expensive, I might wait for MATY or a site like that and try making some aliens dunno.. Some how I can't see my sims in it :/ But anyways I'm sure it will be a big hit :P

    ReplyDelete
  6. Eventually EA is going to have to step it up a notch, CC is kicking their ass. Not really interested in this world. Give me Bulgaria 1990's style!

    ReplyDelete
  7. As mentioned above, it's on sale. Marked as 2200 simpoints until 2/27/12.

And it was still working just a short while ago, but you can get 20% off the point bundles with the "simheart" discount code. The discount is set to expire sometime today, though.

  8. ^There's always a person like so who will but it regardless :D

  9. I'm worried about it conflicting with other Sim premium content myself. The fountain of youth and spell book still are glitched together, so NO I won't be buying more fucked up products from EA that they don't plan on fixing! If they put out a real fix for the spellbook, (although I have one that MATY did and it works) then it would tell me that they at least are concerned with there products not working, and want to do right by there customers....

  10. This world sucks. After Great Bear was posted on this site. I have my dream world :) Im through searching. Nice try tho EA

    ReplyDelete
  11. Luckily, there are player made fixes for the conflicts with with the premium content. This site actually featured at least one of the fixes. I also got mine on MATY. I don't really like this world here, and I agree that it is expensive. It might not be expensive to someone who loves it very much, though. I don't really have many complaints about things that are optional.

While I won't ever contribute a cent towards the store, you have to admit EA really hit the ball out of the park with this (overpriced) world. Check out these shots of LL (not mine) http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.256113824465421.59288.140856535991151&type=3

  14. Well, it does explain the odd trees that came with the patch.

It's a pretty world, but I can barely afford to get expansions packs when they go on sale, so I'm definitely NOT throwing out $25 on a pixel world, when that could go towards a nice LEGO set, or food, or clothing.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Well I think this world blows Hidden Springs away. Still not worth $25 though! I would love it and buy it for $5.

    ReplyDelete
  16. it nice, but if they are going to charge almost as much as a stuff pack for a world they might as well make it worth it, like ACTUAL ALIENS, and interactions with said aliens, without that tid bit of realism its just another world..and not a very appealing one at that. just my opinion.

  17. "As mentioned above, it's on sale. Marked as 2200 simpoints until 2/27/12."

Correct me if I am wrong but don't you still have to buy 3,000 sim points ($30) just to be able to get this world that was discounted to 2,200 sim points? Either way, discounted or not, you are still out of $30.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Thank you anon at 4:02pm, for posting the simheart code. 20% off points is nice and still working as of 5 minutes ago.
I wouldn't have bought this world without it it and I'm so glad I did!

  19. "SOMEONE has to pay money in order for it to be pirated. EA should be ashamed of themselves."

And people wonder governments vote for things like ACTA.

Look, people. You pirate. Lots of people pirate. I get it. But do you have to *announce& it? I miss the days when people would steal things under the cover of darkness and then not talk about it in public.

  20. Holy crap, $25 dollars is a lot of money for a world.

Look, people. You pirate. Lots of people pirate. I get it. But do you have to *announce& it? I miss the days when people would steal things under the cover of darkness and then not talk about it in public.

I'm confused. Why does it matter whether or not it's discussed? Or are you taking issue with the actual piracy itself? If it's the latter, I can follow you.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I love it, beautiful

    ReplyDelete
  22. don't like, and way too expensive...

  23. I'm confused. Why does it matter whether or not it's discussed? Or are you taking issue with the actual piracy itself? If it's the latter, I can follow you.

I typically dislike the piracy in general, although I admit that that's not my main issue here. What is the issue is just how blatant people are about it, and, quite frankly, how proud people are about the fact that they're stealing.

I'm not a programmer or anything. I don't know how much it actually costs to make these things--the cost of equipment, the wages of the actual designers and artists, etc. But I do know that, as with all other vendors, EA wants to make a profit. And that, in order to make up for the fact that people are pirating their stuff, they will then raise prices. It's just what businesses do. Which means that the pirates are screwing over the people who want to own these expansion packs legitimately. So yeah, it totally sucks that this world costs $22 now, because that's quite a bit of money, but it's partially their own damn fault.

I think the problem is that people make custom content for free as a hobby, so they begin to think that everything should be free--as if the employees should also work for free (and no, I'm not an employee).

So yeah, it's really annoying when someone says "SOMEONE has to pay money in order for it to be pirated. EA should be ashamed of themselves."--that is, "How dare they charge for something I'm just going to steal!" That, IMO, is just obnoxious and stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Does anyone else thinks it looks like the mining-type world in Skyward Sword? Pretty sure they hardcore copied some of it...

    ReplyDelete
  25. I would rather have things be discussed than keep things "under the cover of darkness". You want things not talked about in public and then you will cry when it is also a crime to talk about things in public.

    ReplyDelete
  26. "What is the issue is just how blatant people are about it, and, quite frankly, how proud people are about the fact that they're stealing"

IOW your issue is with dishonest people not being dishonest enough about their dishonesty? LOL...

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well, the world is big and very nice actually, but the custom content is not too great aside from the world itself.
Would have liked more outfits and stuff along with it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anon @ 7:13, maybe if they didn't charge such excessive prices (it's so ridiculous what they charge) and made their content reasonably priced, people would actually pay for it. In this economy when it's next to impossible to find a job and then when you do find one, it's barely above minimum wage... then really, $25 for a world is ridiculous. Don't feel bad for a second for EA. They sell millions of copies of The Sims and their expansion packs. And now they charge insanely high prices for all of their store content. No one who works at EA is going hungry because a few people pirate, trust.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Where are the aliens.

It's not that it shouldn't be talked about in public. I said it was stupid.

Or even a lot of people. I think the main issue about the world is that the EA creativity bar is so low. There are so many FREE user-created worlds out there that for EA to release the crap they do is sad. Piracy usually is a result of people not feeling they are/would be getting value for their money; so cheaper store prices or significantly better quality in their worlds and items would lead to less piracy. Of course, EA doesn't see it this way, but corporate types never do.

    ReplyDelete
  32. From what I hear from people who cracked the world open with CAW, the routing issues are worse than the ones in the China world. (This world had the worst issues up till now.) EA's quality control obviously isn't.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Already "on sale" for 2200 SP. I also hear the Tree of Prosperity is not working. So much for learning skills faster.

    ReplyDelete
  34. ok, are they releasing this because Mass Effect 3 is coming out soon??
    Because if so...it's working :x
curse my love for ME and the sims

In your self-righteousness, you completely twisted what I was saying. You need to calm down, chill out, and get off your high horse. Nowhere in that statement did I say or even imply strongly that I was going to pirate it. The ONLY reason I mentioned that "someone has to pay for it in order for it to be pirated" was because I was responding to a particular anon who seemed to think that the cost of the world didn't matter because it COULD be so easily pirated on one of those sites. My whole point (since you lack reading comprehension) was that before people can so readily pirate it, someone has to pay their hard-earned money for it, it's still not worth it, and it's not just some free-for-all all around. I don't like leeches anymore than you do, actually.

Just so you know, I have NO PLANS to pirate this world or any other EA world, so you can take your annoyance and self-righteous attitude and shove them both. If I wanted it, I would pay for it. I just don't think it's worth paying $25 and I stand by that. So I won't be getting it.

I am so tired of people like you.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh, and my part about "EA should be ashamed of themselves" was to the fact that the world costs $25. That's more than a typical stuff pack. They SHOULD be ashamed of themselves for the really ridiculous prices of these worlds.

Now you can go back to looking down your nose at the rest of us, even those of us who never planned to pirate.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Im not sure if its something in my game or the town, but I got it from MATY and some of my custom content has disappeared. Such as hair and make-up. Not sure if there is any relation I just thought I should warn you guys, even if it was crappy CC.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Ugh this world is shitty! 25 dollars?! Wtf EA?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Well I bought this world. I think it's better than the newest "expansion pack" that'll be coming out soon. I mean some of you are willing to pay 40+ taxes for things that should've been in Ambitions and Late Night but you complain about a new, completely different, original world? If you don't like the price just pirate it later. If its simply not your taste then don't get it. Simple as that.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Well, it looks good, but I'm not sure I want to spend my money on it. I never buy expansion pack either. Too expensive for the little we have.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I am starting to really hate EA, with the endless crappy dlc that they keep offloading way OVER priced. They are so blatantly ripping people off with countless "new" CRAP that could have just been added to the game or another shitty DLC they charge 40 fucking dollars for. Fuck EA how much damn profit do they need, ohhh I forgot 89% white men... whoops.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I'm not sure that I know exactly what a good price is or what a bad price is, so I can't say anything about it being $25.

I just don't like how empty it looks.

    ReplyDelete
  43. The people complaining that they can get better worlds off the exchange. I sometimes wonder if you people realize that these worlds are not just using base-game content or stuff they've downloaded around the community.
They have to design the world, make the content, make the clothing, build all the new houses, make new meshes for the venues. You're not just paying for a world of existing stuff. It's basically a stuff pack WITH a world/houses. So it really doesn't feel that too out of hand since stuff packs are generally 20 bucks.

It's a really nice world, vey imaginative and fun. If you don't like it, don't buy it. I enjoyed the heck out of it.

But I'm in the minority. That's okay, though.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I've been checking out how people are tweaking this world for there personal use, and it's making me want to buy it. By the way, those of you who get it pirated, the premium objects that come with the world won't work. SO you might as well wait for it to go on sale. Anyway people are making beautiful Alien Sims and sci fi clubs...I love what this world has did to inspire the community frankly!

    ReplyDelete
  45. The objects actually do work if you decrapdify them.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Don't like it, or any of the other worlds EA created. I honestly can't believe how EA expects us to pay $25 for a world that can't even "compete" with half the other FREE worlds people create, which are, in my opinion, so much better.

Seriously, if EA really expects us to pay for their shit, can't they hire some people who are actually good at creating houses/lots and worlds?

    ReplyDelete
  47. honestly, i'd buy the world if it had at LEAST aliens. or sims 2 strangetown nostalgia.

oh hell, i'll dl it anyway. it has modding possibilities i can play around with.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Lol Ive pirated Hidden Spring and the fountain of youth (or is it life?) works for me! :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. The world from MATY works well and installed properly...so yeah.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Got the stuff from MATY, but not the world. Routing issues are shit, and it doesn't appeal to me (Ironically, someone else made an 'alien' world shortly before this was released, and that was ten times better quality!).

Butt the tree works well in my game, and my sims gain a whole skill point when they eat from it. I haven't yet found a way to figure out exactly WHICH skill fruit you're getting, though.

    ReplyDelete
  51. The world is beautiful. I paid for it, yes. I don't think it's wroth $25, no. At least $5 less, and then add on the sale price. That would make it worth it. For those of you bitching about it not having aliens or anything.... It explains what happened to Bella. It also has descendants from almost all of the EA made towns in it. The new trees are absolutely gorgeous. Some of the houses are well-built, some are crap. What I am rather disappointed in, though, is that the rabbit holes are now literally rabbit holes. They aren't even buildings anymore. Other than that, though, they put in a ton of effort and made a beautiful new world. People whining about EA being ashamed for charging for work they do... Go live in a communist society and see how that works. People like to be paid for what they do. Or you can't run a business. I do agree that it's overpriced, yes.

    ReplyDelete
  52. ^As an addendum, descendants from EA made towns for Sims 3.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm flatly uninterested in this world.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Well, it's not bad, but not really good either. It reminds me a bit to Mass Effect. Ship stranded stuff is also featured in Mass Effect and those buildings looks a bit like the prothean ruins in ME. I would not be surprised if this has something to do with the upcoming Mass Effect 3, which is scheduled for March.
Oh and about deleted CC in conjunction with this: i have no problems. Use alot of cc myself and just installed this world and all is still there.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Just took my first look at Lunar Lakes. I think many of us who get tired of the green grass and mountain vistas will enjoy coming up with original stories for this new World.
I love the pink skies, the bright blue waters, the pipes that run down the streets, and having an entire neighborhood high up in a crater is full of possibilities.
I work hard and playing The Sims is my main source of entertainment so I could either spend much much more at a club or the movies or I can pay EA $22 enjoy days and days of entertainment and hope they continue to come up with more great stuff, while there are sometimes glitches with Store content I've experience far more with custom content from the net, anyone remember "girl doll dressed" from Sims 2 : )

    ReplyDelete
  56. Is anyone using this with the travller mod? Even though it's flagged as a suburb, it's treated as a city (i.e it won't save)What's up with that?

    ReplyDelete
  57. The only truly typical EA crappiness that this world has that I can find so far is the copy-and-paste rabbit holes. I wish they'd taken the time to make the awesome rabbit holes this world would have made possible...

That and the fact that the parks dedicated to the different EP worlds don't actually remind me of the worlds they're supposed to. None of them look like the right world, but maybe that's just me.

All around the world's pretty cool just because it's different. It's a nice change from all the green, and I can easily imagine it as a substitute Strangetown. :) Still not worth $25 though, it isn't an SP or an EP, just a world. That much money is crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Played now some longer and more and more it feels like there is something missing. Lunar Lakes is quite empty and the announced new things is quite bleak. Only the sciene lab is interesting and the 28 hours fitness area is interesting too. But most of those rabbitholes are just that. 10x10 tiles and you're going inside some blue-green fog. In sunset valley you get at least inside a real looking hospital or restaurant or so. Also, there is no single club or lounge here. Seems like sims can't go out. Those parks are quite a joke and don't remember to past worlds. Same goes for the mine, at which you don't find anything at all. Some houses are interesting. Overall LL is somewhat bleak and not very living. You even got almost no opportunities here, while in barnacle bay i got them all the time.

  59. Maybe Armonia from Garden of Shadows works at EA Games
