  1. YAY! I can't wait! On the other hand, what will happen with the boarding schools that are in the game now? What will be the difference between them?

  4. Will there be DORMS like TS 2?

I love Dorms' lives. It was so much fun living together with other students.

  5. Haha Reaan I saw the herbs too! I'm hoping that doesn't have to do with some biology major and it IS in fact what we are thinking haha.

  6. My guess is that it will be something innocent, given the fact that they already have the bubble bar and they're so obsessed with specifying that the keg is a *juice* keg. Which is a little disappointing, but eh.

I'm also kind of disappointed that the world is a sub hood, but the benefit is that you won't have to add a bunch of rabbitholes to existing worlds. I'm hoping Twallan will update Traveler to make it possible to attend college in any world.

The venues look great so far. I love the barista bar that they showed in the chat.

  7. University and Seasons were the only expansions I was most looking forward to. Don't understand why it took so long, given how popular they were in the past. Honestly, this expansion seems to be packed with a ton of awesome new objects in comparison to others. Looking at the pictures there are lots of decor items and furniture as well as the game-play objects; the clothing seems acceptable, maybe they'll add some sets in the Store. It's nice to have so much university gear, so much of my money went to that during my own college days. The barista bar at long last makes its return; not sure what about university life specifically required a working coffee shop, especially since Showtime also included coffee shop rabbitholes.... I wish they had given us three campuses like in TS2U. This campus, which resembles Yale a lot, is quite splendid, but a State school that was maybe less desirable for the Sims or community college would have been great for the less fortunate Sims. My guess is they didn't want to overload players' games. It's too bad the law career is not back, but at least we get to go to some lectures with them. I wish they had implemented an application system like in real life so that some Sims could be rejected and fall into depression. I'm cruel with my Sims LOL! I thought the trailer was the funniest one so far, frisbee in the face, anyone? I don't care that they call it a "juice" keg. My adult mind will call it whatever it wants as it did with the nectar/wine of WA. As for the reference to herbs, unfortunately it's most likely something childish because of ratings regulations. There should have been at least one other clique implemented into the game, perhaps Preps/Socialites or Artsy/Intellectual types. What do you guys think? All in all, I'm very satisfied with this expansion and have already separated the $40. March 5th please hurry up!

  8. I'm probably about the only person I know who doesn't care about University. I found it rather boring in Sims 2. I'm a Pets & Seasons girl :-) Although I also want to be able to run home businesses like my own restaurants. I loved doing that in Sims 2. I guess that isn't in the cards.

  9. I agree, the University EP does nothing for me and will be the first I don't buy.

  10. Recently, I've had the feelings that EA (Or my Fairy Godmother, LOL!) has been granting my every request! It began with Supernatural, which is Super Cool, then they released Seasons, which I have been begging for since the day Sims 3 was released, gave us not one, but TWO new venues (The Greenhouse and The very pretty street market, that blends PERFECTLY with Monte Vista.), a number of great, new Store Sets (I love the Lullaby Nursery Set!), a new, and beautiful world (Monte Vista), they've announced yet ANOTHER new world to be released ON MY BIRTHDAY, and finally they have announced the upcoming release of "UNIVERSITY LIFE", an expansion that I have been longing for, since I played my first game of Sims 3. University, was one of my ALL TIME favorite Expansion Packs for Sims 2, along with "Open For Business", "Apartment Life" and "Bon Voyage". I also enjoyed "Free Time", but didn't want to run all of that into one sentence. I've been praying to the Llama god, pleading for the return of our beloved, green-skinned aliens, and the chance to once again see our Sims be abducted, and rudely dumped, afterward, onto the sidewalk. With Seasons, this wish also, was granted. Thanks a bundle, EA! Dare I continue my prayers to the Llama god, and to the Goddess of the Mighty Plumbob?

Sure! I decided. Why-the-heck- not? All they can do is ignore me. So, I'm asking...My ALL TIME FAVORITE TOWN - OR SHOULD I CALL IT A WORLD? - I prefer to think of it as a Town. My favorite TOWN was "STRANGETOWN". Playing in this little desert community was always fun, and NEVER boring. The pre-made families were the best because they were so Far Out, so OFF-THE-WALL, that it was impossible to not like them. And, in Strangetown, we saw the return of Bella Goth! Bella, the wife of Mortimer Goth, mother of Cassandra and Alexander Goth, and possibly, one of many lovers of womanizer, Don Lothario. She had been on the upper deck of Don's Condo, gazing at the stars through his telescope, when she was rudely, and very suddenly abducted by aliens.

Bella's disappearance stirred up many rumors, much gossip, and considerable contemplation...and a GREAT DEAL of interesting gameplay, as Simmers all over the world sought to solve the mystery.

I enjoyed all of the premade families living in Strangetown, especially that cute, and lovable old coot, named POLLINATION TECHNICIAN #9? He was a sweet, and likable old gent, married to hair-haired, Jenny Smith, with who he was raising two children; Johnny and Jill. He is also said to be the father of two of the singles girls, Chloe and Zoe...

So,is there any way you could give us a new and improved version of Strangetown? Of course, we'd want all of our old, much remembered characters, but we'd welcome some new ones as well, done in the upgraded Sims 3 style...
You've already given us Don Lothario, The Calientes, The Pleasants, The Dreamers, Bella and Mortimer, Micheal Bachelor, the Curious family, the Gilscarbos, Agnes Crumplebottom...Lets keep the ball rolling, okay? I'd love to visit The Store some day soon and discover there was a new World for sale...a World named Strangetown!

  11. Reann (what a pretty name!)it's nice of you to be so generous. Too many people fail to take other people's feelings into consideration. They'll say; "Nah, I didn't like University.", or like Eden will moan that "University does nothing for me, and will be the first I won't buy." And, there's Awwboo (Cute screen name!)who laments,"I'm probably about the only person I know who doesn't care about University. I found it rather boring in Sims 2." Both of you fail to recognize that there are many of us who really DID enjoy University. Yeah, there were periods when the action did slow down and become mundane, but I remedied that by keeping my Sims on Campus as much as possible. I added Parks, Skating Rinks, Arcades, and lots of places to eat and hang out. AS long as your Sims remained on Campus, his or her time to graduation continued to wind to it's conclusion. If you left campus, the clock was paused, so it took longer to graduate. I also used my Sims time on Campus for building skills and beginning relationships. I always liked to pair up my Sims while they were in school together. I'd build their relationship and get them engaged. So, when they returned to their hometown, all I had to do was get them to exchange their vows. Voila! Another happy couple! The only problems I ever had was with Vampires. It was next to impossible to get them to class and back to the dorm afterward without having them become crispy critters in the sunlight. This time around, our Vampires don't fry as quickly in the sunlight, so it should be fairly easy to get them back indoors and out of the sun. There is also a Mod that can help with this, for those of us inclined to use them...I DO agree with awwboo about "Open For Business". I'm hoping we will get something similar for Sims 3. I enjoyed creating and running my own businesses. My most successful ones were appliance and furniture shops, but gift shops also did pretty well. My final wish is for something like Bon Voyage, complete with Bigfoot. I loved that Expansion, loved taking my families on vacations. It was fun to lie on the beach and get a tan, explore the Pirate Ship, do the log roll and eat flapjacks in Three Lakes. The ASian setting was kind of Blah, not a lot to do there, aside from sample the food, take the tours and play Mah Jong. They should have added some Martial Arts Schools, maybe a Kabuki Theater, and a school where Sims could learn the art of Oriental Caligraphy. If we did get a new Bon Voyage, I'd love to have another Middle Eastern Location, where Sims could learn Arabic Art and writing, go for Camel Rides and shop in local street markets. It would be nice to have a frozen location as well...I'd love to send my Sims Skiing in the Swiss Alps. It would also be fun to have them attend Oktoberfest in Germany or Bavaria. It would also be a treat for our Sims to visit the Carpathians, tour the many old world villages, learn the history of Vlad II and visit Castle Dracula. I also think it would be fun to have our Sims vacation in London's Whitechapel District, and tour the places where Jack the Ripper stalked his victims. They could visit old fashioned Music Halls, spend the night in an old Dos House, and visit all of the local Pubs. It could end with a tour of all the locations where a victim's body was found. There are literally a TON of great vacation places that EA could add either by releasing them through the store as a neighborhood or venue or as a limited edition expansion pack. One way or the other it would be fun! What do you guys think?

I've pretty much gotten what I was hoping for with this game, with Supernatural, Seasons and now, University. It would be great to have something like Open For Business, and a new Bon Voyage, but if it doesn't happen, I certainly can't complain. I think it's time for me to step back and let the rest of you have a few of your wishes granted. Happy Simming!
