Hmm. I downloaded this and another furniture set from TSR and they caused my save time to almost triple. I've not noticed this with downloads from other sites. I think it has something to do with the tool used to make them (?), but I'm not 100% sure.
I much prefer free creators, but there are a few artists at TSR who make nice stuff. I've never noticed a change in my save times using TSR items. Are you extracting the .Sims3Packs into .packages and putting them in your Packages folder, or are you using (gasp) the Launcher? If you're using the Launcher, stop now.
I'm not sure if clearing out your caches and your DCBackup would make a difference, but that's also worth a shot.
As for this set, I like the seating (which is odd, because I'm anti-wicker, as a rule), but the tables aren't really my cup of tea. Certainly a decent looking set, though, and it appears to recolor nicely which is always a plus.
Lots of furniture designers poping out here and ther nowadays, but not all of these furnitures are as good looking as they look on the showroom pictures. I download a lot and I delete almost 80% of them after a while. Most of the sofas dont take color very well, or they are too thin, too shiny etc. That said, I love this set although I'm not a big fan of country style but they do look good in game.

ReplyDeleteI agree with the anon above me. TSR content may be a cause to slower save times.
ReplyDeleteThey work fine for me, and this set looks great in game ^^ You have to find those trusted names like mutske
ReplyDeleteSadly, TSR objects are always so large, so that's why your game takes longer to load.
ReplyDeleteIt really is a terrible shame. They have some incredible creators, alas, wonderful items available.

ReplyDeleteGood to hear. I'm tired of all the furniture that recolor poorly. I download a ton, too, and almost all of it gets chucked almost immediately. :(
