T$R NEEDS TO GET OVER THEMSELVES AND STOP CHARGING US FOR SHITTY CUSTOM CONTENT THAT FUCKS UP OUR SIMS! EVEN if it didnt I am very anti pay items, we already spend a shit load of money on this game and its expansion packs, so WHY do i HAVE to pay more to dress them???? (Have you EVER done the math of How much you spend on a BASE game and the ep's? NOT cheap now is it??) T§R is BULLSHIT and they KNOW IT and they need to STOP THEIR ONLINE Bullying! We shouldnt HAVE to pay for some one else's hobby/pass time!
^Completely agree. A lot of the pay content there doesn't even work properly - like Newsea's hairs. I think I have maybe ONE and only one of his hairs that DOESN'T switch to a random one when the Sim showers or is naked. I know there are ways to get around it, but he should start making his stuff properly in the first place since he feels the need to charge.
Sims Resource is in league with the devil. How dare they say it's "copyrighted content" when they themselves are in violation of copyright laws by charging for something with the copyrighted Sims 3 name? They must need a pooper-scooper to pick up all the bullcrap they spread around every day.
"How dare they say it's "copyrighted content" when they themselves are in violation of copyright laws by charging for something with the copyrighted Sims 3 name?"
TSR consists of total hypocrites. They've pulled some pretty sketchy stunts, including publicly distributing their customers' credit card info, yet NOW they want to claim the moral/legal high ground? Awfully convenient how their memory works.
I was reading a thread on there about how TSR filed a complaint against them yesterday, and when I went to go to page 2, the site wouldn't load. It's pretty obvious that TSR wants to be the only sims download site (obviously except the official site) with the way they keep going after all the other sites. They recruit constantly, trying to get good free sites to close up shop and join them and sites that disagree with their practices are often targeted by their nasty, often illegal tactics. I really wish they'd shut down already.
At first, I didn't have a problem with TSR as I've never visited the site before TS3. So I haven't experienced all the crap they've been pulling. But then there came to be more subscriber content uploaded than there is free content (which is usually recolored base game clothes and whatnot). Not cool if you don't like wasting money on trivial things. Who wants to pay for things that screw up our game?
And now they got GOS and other websites shut down? Hell no. They've seriously gone too far this time. If only we could boycott TSR.
^ You can. Don't subscribe, don't visit, don't even download the stuff they make from the booty. And also, don't use the TSR workshop to create things, and don't download stuff from people (even free people) who use the TSR workshop.THAT is how you can boycott them completely.
Though that even means nothing more from Anubis since he uses the workshop. :/ .. And No LemonLeafs stuff, or Tumtum hairs, or lilisims stuff.... which I'm not so willing to do myself. So, I just refuse to subscribe personally.
Before this I never really had a reason to hate TSR except crapola quality things. But I honestly don't think I'll ever DL from then again
Its very hard to completely boycott them though as the anon above said since many people use their workshop (I've used it for re-categorizing but that's about it). I'm also a big fan of Modern Sims. even though there is a stand alone site, a lot of it is hosted on TSR. Its hard to boycott amazing creators or well respected creators. Plus workshop is great for new creators
There are many reasons to hate TSR. Yet again they have made me feel ashamed of being swedish. I usually visit GoS at least two times every day. And obviously I'm donating to GoS when it's up again.
I had no idea they were on GoDaddy. Thought they were on cheezeserver that Pescado's site is on.
Go Daddy is being a wussy, hosting site since they didn't even investigate and ask questions. Just shut down the site cause they got some fancy letter from TSR's lawyers? Shoot, the claims were not true anyway, and if GoDaddy is collecting monies from the clients, I would figure they would at least give the Mods at GOS a chance to explain. GoDaddy sucks and hope they go down in a flame of poo also.
When will TSR and Peggy and the rest of the pay-site nuts get it thru their heads, you do not own anything that goes in the Sims games? All your stuffeths are belongs to EA! (grammatical errors are on purpose in that last sentence)
Thank you for posting this MS3B. I was starting to wonder what happened to the site.
ReplyDeleteMe too...
ReplyDeleteI was so worried ; this site is so cool ! :-(

I knew it! I knew it was TSR related the moment the page wouldn't load. Bastards. Foreign hosting is the only way to go.

ReplyDeleteWTF TSR. EA could pounce on you too if they really wanted to :I
ReplyDeleteat least that's my understanding, correct me of I'm wrong
I'm really sad about this, I have been spending a lot of time on GOS lately. I feel disconnected :(
On another note; would I LUV to see the CC at Nocturnal Sims converted for Sims3. Beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteTSR: Being the Hitler of the Sims community since 1999.

I hope that GoDaddy shows some brains and realises that TSR is waffling on about a lot of nothing.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck GoS!
Everyone that hates TSR should write to EA everyday about their tactics. Maybe EA will get sick of it and tell TSR it needs to be free.
