Oooh I love this one! ♥ But I hair how Peggy separated the UV map in different parts making it almost impossible to match new textures on it - pretty much the reason I didn't convert it before.
Chad it's really simple, don't need tuto ;) Here is the way that i do :
*Make the base hair. *Rename it with group_base. *Now duplicate it and put group_fat in the name. *Hide the base hair (select the whole mesh + ctrl+h). *Make the modifications in the group_fat mesh to fit with the fat body. *Export to .wso (tsrworkshop format) *Import to tsr workshop ;)
In the most of cases you don't need do the fit and thin groups. But if you need only put group_fat, group_thin...And the modifications
Get an full outifit (prefer the nude clothe) in tsrworkshop.Export to ms3d, delet the other groups. Now you have only the group_fat, export to .obj. And now you can use the .obj like an example.
Wow you're right Anubis this hair is crazy! I really like this hair too! It's a shame.... I was trying to retexture it not fully understanding what the problem was... lol, why in the world would you map something like that??? I would remap it but mapping isn't exact my forte so to speak.....
Pic for anyone who doesn't know what we're talking about: http://i711.photobucket.com/albums/ww114/Robodl95/problem.jpg it's worst on the bangs......
No I didn't touch the mesh, just the textures, I'd hold out on downloading the new version though, it doesn't seem to function with hairs not made using it, it crashes everytime I open a hair I made with S3Pe or DABOOBs.
There were people warning in the comments (if they haven't been deleted by now) not to use the new TSRW because there were a lot of problems that hadn't been worked out. I'm still using the old version myself.
tsr has a new scheme going on-making people pay for a magazine the likes of which living sims offers for free.
I wonder if they're gonna include any non tsr artists, who won't be getting paid.
Summer Edition 2010 * $8.95* + shipping * $4.95 + shipping for TSR subscribers * Unlocks access to several hundred subscriber only creations from The Sims Resource used in the Magazine.
Are you serious??? I saw that but I didn't realize it was pay 0.0 there are tons of sim magazines out there already for FREE (and more than likely higher quality than anything that TSR would do)
Imo this hair does need a retexture (if anyone is willing to work with this annoying hair) the control map isn't very good
Are there any tutorials out there on conversion in general?
I am tired of waiting for people to convert less conventional hairs and would like to try it myself. Hopefully textures don't have to be done from scratch or anything. (From what I can tell, UV Maps are inherently contained within meshes themselves, so they shouldnt be)
This is lovely! The bangs look a bit odd though, I'm not sure if I like the highlights. But otherwise it's a great conversion, thanks!
ReplyDeleteGreat conversion. I love it. <3
ReplyDeleteOooh I love this one! ♥
ReplyDeleteBut I hair how Peggy separated the UV map in different parts making it almost impossible to match new textures on it - pretty much the reason I didn't convert it before.
BTW, thanks for the morph states! ^-^
Very nicely done. I'd love to have a hair like this that's shorter.
ReplyDeleteTumTum is so my favorite. Thank you for giving some love to the girls with long hair. :D
ReplyDeleteIt looks awesome. Can you make a tutorial for making morph states?

Thank you so much! Now my conversions might suck less.
ReplyDeleteI love you Tum
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! *drools*
ReplyDeleteOh, btw, where do I get the fat body mesh so I can edit the hair in Milkshape?
ReplyDeleteSo it cannot be retextured?
ReplyDeleteThat sucks. :/

ReplyDeleteJeez, I meant "I hate how..." I shouldn't write while I'm doing something else XD
ReplyDeleteIt can be retextured, you just need a lot of patience :P
PS: This hair looks like a better version of one of NewSea's hairs :3
More male hair, pretty please?
ReplyDeleteYeah...The Newsea's one is cool ,but it's much anime for my taste :p
ReplyDeleteI think it's the Lady hair(?).
Wow you're right Anubis this hair is crazy! I really like this hair too! It's a shame.... I was trying to retexture it not fully understanding what the problem was... lol, why in the world would you map something like that??? I would remap it but mapping isn't exact my forte so to speak.....

sigh
Robodl the problem in the pic was a normal problem, did you try edit the mesh in ms3d?
ReplyDeleteBecause i fixed it before make the package.
And why your workshop looks better than mine T.T?What you do?
Looks my tsrworkshop T.T

And btw, in my pic the hair don't have the problem.
Ah!I think i know!
ReplyDeleteTSRWORKHOP 2.0 is up \o/
I'm jumping!!!!!!
ohoh...sorry
ReplyDeletetsrworkshop*
I LOOOOOOVE THIS!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo I didn't touch the mesh, just the textures, I'd hold out on downloading the new version though, it doesn't seem to function with hairs not made using it, it crashes everytime I open a hair I made with S3Pe or DABOOBs.
ReplyDeleteThey probably won't fix that. I think they probably did it on purpose.
ReplyDeleteI bet so... Could it be that I don't have the new "S3PE plugin"? I don't know if that would have anything to do with it or not
ReplyDeleteGah I hate TSR! The only reason I use TSRW is because it's preview panel is far superior to CTU,
I've tested the new tsrw now and yes...It's crashes a lot :/
ReplyDeleteThere were people warning in the comments (if they haven't been deleted by now) not to use the new TSRW because there were a lot of problems that hadn't been worked out. I'm still using the old version myself.
ReplyDeletethis needs a retexture badly :/
ReplyDeleteNo, it really doesn't, jfc. What's so goddamn horrible about it that it doesn't just need a retexture, it needs a retexture ~badly~?
ReplyDeleteIt needs a retexture badly? COME ON. Look at the in-game shots Tum Tum provided. THE TEXTURE IS FINE.
ReplyDeleteSome people will shout RETEXTURE, RETEXTURE! on anything that isn't Pooklet.
The sad thing is that some people will whine even WHEN someone is using Pooklet's textures if it's not done by a creator they deem their favorite.

Oh, I like it, Tum :3 I don't love hairs of such length that much, but it's great hehe
ReplyDeleteBrilliant, as always! Tum Tum, I'm becoming a fan of yours)))
