  1. The effort that goes into these is obvious, but dammit, they'd make so much sense as a world.

    The way they are, you:

-Can't actually have multiple families living there, without slowdown from the whole lot being active
-Can't run it on a lower-end computer, since again, the whole lot is loaded and active.
-Can't use any of the individual pretty houses anywhere in town, they're stuck on this big lot.
    -Can't use any registers

It's basically a mini-world with significantly less functionality. Why don't they just make an actual world? Then there'd be a bunch of lots anyone could use whenever and wherever they wanted, there would be AI families, there'd be actual town life to it. And since we can place any size lots in CAW and Edit World, there's really nothing stopping them except the outer walls, which aren't all that necessary anyway (and could be placed on tiny lots around the edges as a custom object, if necessary).

  2. This utterly wows me. Each room is saturated with detail, and it's obvious how much work and love was put into this. It's a gorgeous piece of property, but I do agree with Claeric that it is difficult to find a place for it in a conventional town. It would indeed make a fantastic world!

  3. Yeah they would make sense as a town but JJ's town is fantastic & underway so I can wait for that.

Just because someone can build doesn't mean they can use CAW or have enough time to do such a big project

  4. If you have enough time to build this, you have enough time to build the exact same thing in pieces.

  5. I have to agree. This is beautifully done and I can not even imagine the hours upon hours of work went into this. I can def see this being better as a whole town.
It truly is amazing! TY so much

  6. A 60x60 lot/An entire town, how in the world do they take the same amount of effort? For it to function as an entire town you'd need a LOT more houses and community locations.

  7. Even if 60x60 is a little small for a town, it's really huge for a single building. While I suppose that is the point of a castle, it just seems a shame not to take advantage of that space. At the very least, it demands the overstuffed option with AM.

  8. Rob, I'm sorry you're sorrowfully illiterate, but I don't believe I implied a single time that the world in question would have to be larger than the existing Medieval lots Candlelight has made.

This would be why I said *twice* that the *same thing* in town format would be nice. Making the same thing in a different format would not take too much more time, the only worry would be the area outside of the town which could just be loaded with trees.

  9. it's so damned dark, worn, foreboding. glad i didn't live back then

  10. This single lot (while it is indeed gorgeous and awesome) isn't big enough to try to create an entire town, you need about 30 residential lots to sustain an average population and not to mention all the necessary community lots, just splitting it up wouldn't be enough

  11. I'm living in my own world with 10 families. Works fine.

  12. Just splitting up this lot wouldn't make a town, but that's not what we're talking about here. She has a whole series of Candle-Town lots that, if broken up, could make a world.

Jesus, Rob, try thinking before you speak.

  13. I would love a Candletown world. Every single lot she creates is just beautiful. Since they all seem to follow a consistent theme, it doesn't seem too farfetched to cobble some together.

  14. Just like the Anon said above- if you actually would learn to read and think before responding, you'd know we're not talking about this one lot. There are at least 3 that I know of, probably more.

  15. Candlelight is a perfectionist as it seems, creating this stuff as a town would take a little more time if you want the world to look good too.

  16. I think it's the surrounding walls that would make this especially difficult to create as a world. I think the in-game effects would look odd after having to manipulate the walls to look correct. That's what's stopped me from making connecting lots before.

But really, this is beautiful. Such attention to detail and authenticity. Everything works together. You'd never be able to properly do this in Sims2. Without CAS, we would be hurting.
