Why does everyone cream themselves over Jope's stuff? Is it exceptionally nice in-game? The preview images don't look like anything special but everyone talks about them like they're amazing, so I assume they look better in-game than they do here.

Yes they do. First, some of the furniture come with a unique pattern that you can save, like that weave one on the chairs. Then when you use some great patterns, they look amazing.
I do adore Jope's stuff, it's well textured and they're well-designed pieces, it's very versatile and they don't use patterns on it that display the quality as well as they could in the demo pics, but they really are quite lovely in game.
I do love Jope's sets. All of these are must haves. Thanks for the info and updating the blog.
