  1. Could you make sim3packs too? I have to be very careful not to get too many packages or my game slows to a crawl.

  2. ^You ARE merging your packages, yes? Because there is literally no difference between sims3packs and packages except sims3packs have their own installer, so they shouldn't be slowing your game down at all.

  3. Seems like that would make it very hard to keep track of what I had installed, but I did try merging packages once. I'm sure it's entirely my fault but I hosed it so bad I had to reinstall. So like the guy who got mauled by the bear, I won't be tickling that bear again. Not in the same spot anyway. Some people make their downloads available in both formats, I'm just checking.

  4. I could make it, but since I don't use sims3pack files I can't test it. Having to test all all of my retextures once takes a long time already, and just the process of installing and (the worst part) uninstalling sims3pack I would take too long and my patience wouldn't permit that. So, if you're willing to take a risky sims3pack and try it out, I can start adding this option too.

  5. Yay! I wanted this for a specific sim, but hated newsea's texture. Thank you.

  6. Lotus, I'd be delighted to try an untested sims3packs and let you know if it works, thanks. :)

  9. The only thing I hate about Sims3Packs is when you uninstall it from the launcher it's only disabled. The file size never shrinks. ><

Great job, Lotus! I love the textures. :D

  10. ^ And you can delete combined packages by deleting their strings (or whatever they're called). A bit time consuming, but not as bad as deleting the entire DCCache folder and recombining everything through the launcher, in my opinion.

What? The point is to keep backups of the separate packages. It's actually much easier to manage than the launcher, since you can organize by type, name, etc.

This. I used to be wholeheartedly against merging packages, but it is VERY easy with the latest versions of s3pe. You don't have to delete any XML instances yourself (as with older versions) because it automatically does it for you, all you do is import them as dbc, wait until it finishes, and then you save. You are supposed to keep backups. I have all my backups arranged in separate folders by the category I merged them in...so if I have to delete something, all I do is go in and delete that package from my backup folder and then when I get ready to remerge, all I do is hit Ctrl+A to select all the files for that category and hit Import as DBC. Then I save it again. It's a lot easier to delete individual files when you merge them than scrolling through the unorganized Launcher to find it and get rid of it.

It actually IS easier however to wipe the DCCache folder and then reinstall all .sims3pack files than it is to have to remerge several package sets, though. All you do is click "Select all" in the Launcher and then hit Install. Then you just sit back and wait. If you somehow had to delete every merged package file, then you'd have to import all those sets back into s3pe and remerge. It's not hard, but it would be more time consuming.

  17. You can request and I'll see if I can do it, but I make no promises. :)
