I wonder why the Asian living/clothes and kitchen are sale priced $19.95 USD?
$24 dollars is not a real lowered for the items plus the pet stuff.
SMH.
Pass. Lameness as usual, EA. Your hairstyles look like shit. How are you not embarasses yet that CC creators who do this for free are 1,000 times better at designing than you are? Bunch of fucking EA monkeys employed these days.
The only thing I want is the kimonos. I don't think I'd buy the set.
Brownlustgirl, thank you SO VERY MUCH for uploading the December sets separately at MATY.
That way, we can pick and choose and don't have to have a bunch of stuff we don't want through the compilation. Seriously, so grateful.
Goodness, why is the Japanese CAS set 76 MB, EA?
Man, I want this badly!!
EA's hairs are simpler because they are built to accomodate low-end machines, different head shapes, headgear, and for people who don't need their sims to look like an Oblivion porn mod.
I wonder if the New Years thing actually animates.
Probably shouldn't talk about MATY here.
So sick of all this asian shit.
Effin FINALLY!!! Some kimono and yukata at long last!
I agree with the Ea Monkey comment above--even though their hair meshes are suited for low end computers (like mine :P ) their textures still look so FAKE. :( TS2's textures were so much better. :( But I DO love the chonmages, since NO ONE has made any outside of Eodsy at Thaithesims3/Simsrooms and Tee Sang Boy.

I don't give a fuck. All of their hairs are the shittiest stuff I have ever seen and they expect people to pay for this. Absolute garbage in this entire collection and I agree with the Anon above, I am sick of this Asian shit.

Most hair creators are pay. (The ones who actually do the real meshing/hard work.)
I hopped on the midcentury kitchen. It'll go nicely with my midcentury CC so nicely. :)
I seem to be in the minority, but I think EA did brilliantly with this. First time I've really liked everything that came out in a cycle.
eh, call me insane, but I like SOME of the EA hairs. I couldn't live on just CC hairs. So many of them look so fake. WHile EA hairs some type of simplisticness to them, which makes them semi-appealing to me.
"I seem to be in the minority, but I think EA did brilliantly with this."
I really LOVE the Asian-themed sets. I'm so glad they are doing a variety of themes and representing a variety of cultures. I would like to see some more "black"/African hairstyles, though, in the future.
"I am sick of this Asian shit"
But not shiny impossibly-positioned over-sized cookie-cutter asian hair, apparently.
EA makes crap because there's always some idiot willing to pay for it. It's really that simple.
Don't like Asian shit? Then go and ask some White people to make White people hair instead of bitching about it. I'll be glad to see people complaining about how they're sick and tired of white people shit for a change.
I like the clothes, I just wish there was a bit more variety. Different styles of kimonos, maybe a short yukata.
That being said, I really love the furniture set.
All this "Japanese-themed" stuff, yet nothing useful. Would it KILL them to at least include a low-table for sims to eat at while sitting on the floor like many Japanese do in their home??
Oh, that's right. I forgot the unwritten law that all store items must be perfectly useless (yet somehow still disgustingly overpriced?).
^ A table like that *would* be fantastic. But yeah, don't expect to see new animations etc in store items. That would mean EA would actually have to put *work* into all their over-priced garbage. :)
A table like that would probably be put in premium content and cost over 5 bucks because it would require new programming and possibly new animations assuming they don't do it cheap and make them sit correctly (not just re-use picnic sitting animation)
EA makes the best clothing. Its very difficult to find CC with the level of detail EA puts into new clothing meshes. This is not an opinion, its true.
However, I'm disappointed that EA hasn't made some pretty standard clothing meshes yet in either the packs or the store. For example: no capelets, wide skirts, tunics, and generally a lack of footware variety (especially in the store). EA came very close to a capelet but went the lazy rout and created sleeves. The wider skirts are usually attached to a sleeveless dress, condemning it to be a modern ball or wedding gown. There are "tunics", but they are not properly cut with the sleeve starting at the armpit rather than the waste.
I really like the traditional Japanese clothing in this update. Its probably the most useful piece they've put up in a while.
Asian buy and play The Sims 3 too, you know. NewSea/Peggy/LemonLeaf/Watermelon/Heiret/Rusty/Myos...are a few names of Asian sims community.
Looking at EA's clothes and hair mesh, I think we don't have to be too strict about pay/donation because quality costs a lot of time and skill that free creators cannot afford.
Will EA ever create ethnic kitchen and dining? Not everyone in the world use the counter/island system with modern fridge and oven.
I think EA should work only on premium contents now.. all these decor items are unusuable, and there are too much objects, hairs or clothes that are almost identical on the store (after 2 years, EA tends to create always the same things).. We want PREMIUM contents, usable items that our sims will be able to enjoy and not all these expensive, unusauble and ugly sets
I swear they released that sunburst clock before. Moderately certain I have it in my game. With their mid-century living set?
After EA just released a simple Tetris game for iPhone wanting a SUBSCRIPTION FEE, their greed and laziness never surprises me anymore.
This just more of the same hideously-OVERPRICED, useless garbage. I'd expect nothing more.
Yeah, I agree about more premium content in the store, a lot of creators, pay or free can create objects at more afforadable price if they are not boycotted too enthusiastly by EA's EULA loyalist.
"We want PREMIUM contents, usable items that our sims will be able to enjoy and not all these expensive, unusauble and ugly sets"
That's more of an EP area, though. Store stuff is almost always decorative, the only exception I can think of being the well in Hidden Springs and the book thing included in the Gothic library download.
Store stuff has always been (even back in TS2 days) a quick, easy way to for them to make money. I don't see that changing.
"I swear they released that sunburst clock before. Moderately certain I have it in my game. With their mid-century living set?"
I'm not sure, but I know that AweSims had a sunburst clock in one of her lovely mid-century modern sets.
As for premium content, they've been releasing more and more of it lately. A good example is the set that came out a few weeks ago that had the pinball machine and the baby swing. Before that were the AutoNoms pet feeder, the uber toilet, the gumball machine, the Sharper Sim massage chair, and the wind chimes.
I love the sushi pillows. That is all.
I really adore the butterfly hair, will definitely be using that!
I was hoping for a proper kimono to make a geisha girl with, but they seem to be impossible to find. Shall just have to modernise her, I suppose.
*wipes tear* Oh EA, you really do care! Somewhat. Always wanted more Japanese (not just Chinese) stuff. Well I'll be going to MATY to show how much I love you too. ;D
Is it really a good idea to talk about how you're planning on illegally downloading these items on a public forum...?
LOL at these people whining and calling EA's stuff "garbage", yet they're playing on a game that's made by-surprise surprise- EA themselves. Hypocrisy much?
If you like their stuff, buy it. If you don't, then don't. STFU.
Ive been waiting for the Japanese stuff sine sims 3 came out!
I'm so upset! You can't woohoo on the sushi pillows!
