"I've only seen one good facemask ever on a TS3 sim."
This.
Facemasking is taking the easy way out. There are people like LadyFrontbum who never use facemasks and they spend ages working on celebrity sims and they turn out beautiful. That showcases true talent. Of COURSE it's going to look just like the Sim if you cheat and basically do the equivalent of photoskinning all or parts of their face. It's lazy and shows no CAS skills at all. Also, 9 times out of 10 the facemasks look greasy, oily, and out of place in the Sims world. It also makes the celebrity hideous because they tend to make them look like they have damaged skin.
"Im thinking with a facemask like that, zero effort was put in to actually make the sim look like her.. Facemasks are a cop out."
Exactly. Facemasks are a cop out and completely stupid because the features of the facemask don't get inherited since it's makeup. So if you breed your Sim thinking you're gonna get kids that favor Jen Aniston, you won't. The features will be those of some generic sim instead.
If you can tell who the Sim is supposed to be, then it's successful in my book. I could tell it was Jennifer Aniston immediately, too. I think that's awesome.
i could tell it was here its a pretty nice job and i dont find face masks as horrid as most ppl on here are saying it is. onli thing i dont like it this sim is the nose
"If you can tell who the Sim is supposed to be, then it's successful in my book. I could tell it was Jennifer Aniston immediately, too. I think that's awesome."
Um, no shit, Sherlock! Being able to tell who the Sim is, is not "successful" if instead of working hard like other creators to use sliders to get a celebrity likeness, all you did was basically photoskin their face and slap it into the makeup category. That's not being successful, it's being a lazy cheat with no creating talents at all. This isn't even a GOOD face mask, so they couldn't even photoskin in a halfway decent manner. But yeah, it's going to look like the person if you basically take a pic from Google of their face, slap it in Photoshop, do some editing, and then put it into TSR Workshop or CTU.
That's not too bad at all, but the nose could use some more definition, it looks a little like plastic.... wait maybe that IS realistic seeing as how many operations the chick has had lol.
While the majority of drones here mindlessly bash this, the face mask was actually a great decision for this celeb sim. Typically it would look awful and lazy, but this woman REALLY DOES HAVE weird skin perfectly fitting of an ugly, awkward looking face mask.
The second anon nailed it. She's absolutely HIDEOUS, and it's also an incredibly accurate, truly wonderful job. Easily in the top 3 best-made celeb sims created so far for TS3.
this is a great face mask, but i can't help but hating face masks. They just don't suit sims and they make sims faker then if you don't us the face masks.
She looks greasy and mannish and horse face-ish just like the real one. Good job!
ReplyDeleteNot bad, I can tell it's her but I'm not too fond of the facemask. Good work though!
ReplyDeleteWhy don't people get how horrible face masks look?
ReplyDeleteI've only seen one good facemask ever on a TS3 sim.
not a fan of facemasks
ReplyDeleteIm thinking with a facemask like that, zero effort was put in to actually make the sim look like her.. Facemasks are a cop out.

She is so overrated! lol!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look too bad... though I suggest changing the hair to see more of her face. She looks blocky and man-ish.
ReplyDeleteThat's a little frightening....
ReplyDeleteIf you make a good sim then you don't need a facemask...
^What you said, 100%!
ReplyDeleteWhat is the one good facemask you guys have seen? Just curious. :D
ReplyDeleteI'm amaze she looks a lot like jenn aniston.
