That house is a Lustron, and you're right, they're pretty rare. :) I'm very fond of them, though. They were prefab homes (with a 9 mile long assembly line!) that were made only for a little over a year, iirc, 1949-1950. They had enameled steel tile siding - very distinctive.
I can't take credit for the layouts - they're all from real midcentury floor plans, linked in the blog. :)
lol, can't say that I've ever seen a house with tile siding. I like the layouts, though.

ReplyDeleteI don't care for the tiled wall, personally, nor do I like the fact that the exterior is so many colors that it looks accidental. Otherwise not bad.
