  1. OMG this game looks freakin awesome... I think I'm going to have to change my mind about stand alone Sims games

  2. I have to agree. I'm anxious for it's arrival too.

  4. Standalone sims games most certainly aren't "The Sims", but that doesn't mean they're bad at all. The GBA/DS Urbz is awesome and addictive. The console versions only sucked because of load times and limited content, stuff which should not be present in the upcoming Sims 3 for consoles. MySims is an awesome game, if a bit more repetitive and shallow. Castaway Stories was a hell of a lot of fun and gave birth to the Adventure system in World Adventures.

This one will probably be pretty good.

  7. I liked Castaway Stories, but the inability to add new lots as well as not having all the features of TS2 kind of made it not as fun once I played through the story a few times. I might get Medieval, but I don't see myself playing it for too terribly long before I get bored.

  10. I'm more excited about people converting objects from this game over to The Sims 3!

  11. There are already many games out there that are medieval in theme and they have full complete voice actors, whereas the sims only speak simlish. what are the chances i would want this? it a million to one.

  12. I won't be getting this as it's not for me, but it does look fun if you are into that sorta thing. For a standalone I'd say it's pretty cool.

  13. I'm not convinced I don't like that we have to strive to a goal, I'd much have just preferred having the normal sims interface in medieval times. I would feel to pressurized to complete quests than to enjoy sim life. I also don't like the fact that you don't get to use your own character for all the quests.

  14. Sims Castaways was waaay better than World Adventures. The whole idea of building your village from the ground up was wonderful, but without the ability to reproduced the concept was doomed. (There's only so long a married couple can talk about chickens.) I really hope a fully expanded Castaway EP comes out for Sims3 that is'nt standalone.

  15. Similar to the 'Stories' series of the Sims 2, isn't Medieval supposed to be a laptop/low end computer-friendly version of the Sims 3?

Medieval is cute, but I have Sims 3 and all the ep/packs/store crap-- and despite the fuckery of EA, it's very playable.

Though, I must admit, it would be nice to see some of those male hairs brought over to Sims 3.

  16. shame they can't incorporate that stuff into the sims 3 "normal" game.

  17. I think my hubs will love this- I'll prob end up getting it

  18. Crap. And here I thought that I'd be able to get away with *not* doing any Silmarillion characters in a Sims setting. Thank you for enabling my horrible horrible fandom, EA.

  20. Wow... "The Sims Official Cheerleading Team" really swarmed this thread of comments FAST.

Gotta admit if that's not the case, it's reeeeally odd how all the comments went from 100% total-'OH-YEAH-AWESOME I'M BUYING' at first to mostly negative for the duration.

  21. ^ I agree. Pretty sure EA does that on this blog all the time. Figuring most people only read the top comments anyway.

As far as this game, couldn't care less, and I won't it won't appeal to me at all.

  22. If your children could grow to adults and your adults could age and die, then I would get it. But otherwise, its a game whose goal is to reach a goal with no sandbox. Sad for a Sims game. Not sure it should have the word Sim in it since its really just a rpg game using the Sims 3 Engine.
