Deletable Mailbox Mod by Cmo

This simple mod makes the default mailbox deletable, and buy-able from the catalog, like most objects. This is so you can replace it with custom mailboxes. Its location in catalog is Outdoor/Lawn Ornaments, price 0 simoleons. Install as you would normally install any package file. This mod will only conflict with mods that alter the OBJD of the default mailbox.


WARNING: I strongly advise against playing with NO mailbox. The purpose of this mod is to make the mailbox replaceable. I you screw up your game playing with no mailbox its your own fault because I warned you.

    This would be nicer if it actually did something WORTHWHILE, like - oh, I don't know - making the vacation world mailboxes buyable so you have something to replace it with?

    And why is this even needed in the first place? If you put another mailbox on the lot, the original will automatically dissapear?

    I hate to be a tit-picker, but this is overall a completely useless mod that is just screaming disastor waiting to happen.

    If you try yo place a mailbox on a lot that already has a mailbox you can't. This mod allows you to delete the mailbox so you can. If you went to the site, you would know that this modder is making custom mailboxes, and this mod is needed to use them.

    I for one am happy for custom mailboxes. What is really useless is ignorant comments.

    I made the vacation world mailboxes buyable quite a long-ass time ago. They have a few glitches but you can find them with a quick google search.

    That said, putting a second mailbox on a lot that already has one does *not* make the original disappear, and only the original will function. You can destroy the original without any issues whatsoever, and the second mailbox will automatically take over as the dominant, fully functional mailbox.

    So yeah, this mod is a little unecessary- you don't need to be able to properly delete the mailbox to use custom ones at all.

    Well, it DOES dissapear with the apartment building mailbox, so I can see why someone would make the mistake of assuming.
